You'll laugh but I read the title and then the question about steampunk and thought its old but new too There's some cool examples on the thread Jason started here http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/board/general/chit_chat/7547-help-steampunk-help-needed - also there are quite a films which will give you an idea of what steampunk is. The two recent Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr in are v steampunk, also The Prestige and The Golden Compass are. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is too but I didn't think the film was that good.

I love the songs in Nightmare Before Christmas and I love the darkness of Chicago. The story is still very relevant to todays celeb culture even though Bob Fosse wrote it a long time ago. I'd like to Cabaret but have never got round to it and I've just got a copy of Sweeny Todd so will get round to that at some point.
Wow that was impressive - I only posted it yesterday afternoon
Thanks Mission Bound Creations for the tip - will check now

I had a quick look on pinterest and found these boards - http://pinterest.com/search/boards/?q=steampunk - it might be worth creating an account with them if you don't have one so you can pin everything pic/project idea you find in one place. I do that with swaps when I'm getting ideas. I also use polyvore for that as it seems to give me a starting point.
I've been rushed off my feet at work the last couple of days so barely had a break so haven't got to the post office yet. Its my day off tomorrow though so I'll post it then.
I've got really eclectic tastes as far as art is concerned. I love abstract, surrealist art and the pre raphaelites like Waterhouse. I also really love Louis Wain, Jamie Hewlett and Arthur Rackham. My mum has an Arthur Rackham print in her house and I'd love to have one of my own. If money was no object and I had the space to hang it then I'd like something by Waterhouse as the memory of seeing his work in the flesh is still really vivid. I remember being really moved and almost overwhelmed by their beauty. The paintings are much bigger in the flesh than I'd imagined and I remember just standing there totally entranced by them.
How did you find it? I was having a hunt around on the UK site but can't see what it would be under.
I looks really good. One you might like for inspiration is http://self-constructed-freak.blogspot.co.uk/ - she's also young and has a very cool blog of fashion, crafting, music and other stuff. She's got a wonderfully original style which I love.
Thats so cool - if you charge them up with some light they should glow. I'm not sure for how long though but I've made jewellery from glow in the dark fimo before.
I've also used food colour to stain my lips in the past before. You need to use a lip pencil and paint it on very carefully. I will stay on about 6 - 8 hours and is matt. If you want it to be glossy add some lip balm or solid coconut oil with it. Be careful though as any mistakes are a real pain to clean off your skin.
