I received my parcel of goodies from Mary today and I love everything. I've only posted hers today as I've had a bad chest infection which made my asthma horrendous. I was back at work today and that's the first day I've been out of the house properly. I'll get some pics later and post them here

Hi Mary, I got yours today - its postmarked the 21st Oct so it's taken a very long time to reach me. I have no idea whats going on with the postal service at the moment but I thought you'd be pleased that its arrived. I'll take some pics in a mo before I drink the tea

I'm really sorry for putting that Joss. I was getting confused as I have been messaged by a couple of others who had been flaked on by the person who flaked on me so had flaking on the brain. Mary did say in her original message to me that your parcel to her had got lost in the post.

Thats okay - I can send you my work address if that would be easier. The only reason I didn't give it out when we were all signing up is because they were making cuts at my work in October but those have been put back till January so I still have a job. You may already have it as its were you sent my geeky swap. I don't always get packages that don't fit through the letter box as the postman won't deliver them. They just leave a card saying they tried to deliver it and its at the depot for me to collect. I usually get the card and collect the package but a few years back we had a few that got returned to sender as the postman didn't leave a card so I didn't know there was a package to collect. I haven't had any issues for years though so I'm hoping that wasn't the problem :/

I'm glad we have a swap angel thread back as it used to be the one I checked to find out if swappers were reliable or not. There used to be a flaker thread too but it got taken down after things turned nasty.
While I think this thread is essentially a good idea as people should have some means of checking if a swapper has been reliable or not I think we need to be careful not to come across as attacking someone personally. I know noone has done that yet but we had a thread like this a few years back and is was removed because things turned nasty. A swapper was named as flaking because the recipient didn't like what she'd sent and lots of nasty messages turned up on the thread between both parties and the thread was removed.

I've messaged her twice - first time 21 days ago and second 8 days ago and I've not heard anything from her.
I feel a little mean writing her off as a flaker, but she doesn't leave me much choice. I would be fine if she had told me she was late sending out or that she'd been ill or some other emergency but its the lack of communication that's hard. Especially as she was the one organising the swap :/
I've been listening to loads of Lettie recently. I saw her live a couple of years back and she was excellent. Definitely worth a listen. A good place to find new music is Lastfm. You can link it up to your ipod or computer or whatever you listen to music through and it can recommend other artists like what you've been listening to.
