Started some catnip off on the window sill last week and its already got little shoots 
We have a cat down the allotment who often comes to visit and sits on my lap and gives me plenty of love when I'm feeling poo so I thought I'd plant something for him

Also I love Lush stuff. The shampoo & conditioner bar I've got has lasted me about 3 months and there's no packaging. Same with the bath bombs Also the shower gel lasts forever. They smell amazing too.
I absolutely love 'Crowds' by Bauhaus. Also 'Some Kind of Stranger' by Sisters of Mercy & 'Pictures of You' by the Cure. I also love 'The Art Teacher' and 'Vibrate' by Rufus Wainwright. He writes amazing lyrics and has an amazing voice. He makes it sound so easy. I wish I didn't sound like a strangled cat when I try to sing but ho hum

I've just started following a families blog who are trying to produce no waste. Its really inspired me and I've been buying all our fruit & veg from the market as they sell it in paper bags so they can be recycled. I've also been really geeky and made myself a spreadsheet where I'm putting in everything I think I need to buy. I've then got columns with 'make it?', 'borrow it', 'second hand?' and 'best value?'. I've been answering all those questions then I've got columns for 'waste?' and 'resale?'. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up but I'm hoping once I get into a habit of thinking this way about everything I'll save some money and help the environment a bit more. \o/
I get a bit scared of roses. I'm not sure why but they look complicated to grow. I love the smell though. We're got a few roses at the daycentre I work at and the yellow one is lovely.
I'm just thinking of it as a different strain of flu. It doesn't sound any worse than flu its just that a lot of people tend to say they've got flu when its just heavy cold. Flu is pretty crappy if you get it but the large majority of people get over it. Its probably only the vulnerable groups that need to be extra careful like the v young, elderly and those with major health problems already.
I get really cynical sometimes about the news and do wonder some days if these kind of things are hyped up as it takes the spotlight away from the government and political news. Hope that doesn't sound too paranoid :/.
Yeah I agree but it seems worse now than when I was growing up. Maybe I'm getting old I think its all the 24hr news channels. I think they feel obliged to fill it with 'news' even tho its not news.
There's a confirmed couple of cases in Scotland and scientists reckon that it will be in London by now. I'm getting really cheesed off with the British media tho. I barely read the papers and don't watch telly so the bits I've read have really annoyed me. It so hyped up. They don't just report the facts any more. As far as I can tell its basically a new strain of flu. I don't see how making people scared and panicky is going to help.

I work at a daycentre for adults with mental health problems and one of the groups I run is an art group. I'm very flexible about what art is and tell the group if its creative and they enjoy it then I'll do all I can to support them doing it in that time. I have about 4 who struggle to get going on something. Confidence for all of them is fairly low and so is concentration. I'm usually able to find something to get them started but I would still love to hear from anyone who has any new ideas.
Is there a way to search the list of craft shops people have added by location? Also a glossary might be cool so if your new to a crafty hobby, like I am to jewellery making, and you're reading a how to but aren't sure what's meant by some of the terminology you could look it up. It could be open like the rest of the site so people could add to it as they come across something new.
