I check on mine every so often to see if any one had Q's about a project. They are going to have a feature that alerts you when someone comments or favorites one of your projects, but they are still working on that
I'm sure lots of people check the stats on their projects too!
I've always been told/taught they are a 20g hard wire, or half hard if you plan on hammering them. There are too of awesome tutorials out there for making your own, even if you don't have all the fancy tools. I'm sure the size of wire can vary a but depending on the look you want. Just try for hard wire, that way it won't loose shape later during use.
I am the opposite of Suzy Lee - I have had great success with #6 Plastic!
#6 is the kind that clear boxes from the deli/bakery are made of btw. So easy to find and cheap to use. Cut out the flat section of the box, rough up one side with sandpaper, then draw and color on the rough side, cut out and bake @ 300'F. It will shrivel up and flatten out just like shrink paper.
But one down side is every plastic container is a bit different from the last, so some times you will get a bad one, and it wont turn out just right, but don't worry, it's not you'r fault, lol.
I would recommend trying the #6 plastic before ordering online, you might find that it works really well for what you needed, and you wont need to order anything
It looks like they used shoe laces to make a section of Circle Stitch, then poked the hoop through the center and wrapped the ends of the hoop with the excess shoe lace. On each end they then wrapped the shoe laces in place with some silver wire.
You can look up boondoggle or Gimp or Craft Lace patterns (all the same thing, just depends on what you call it) anyway look up a Boondoggle Circle Stitch. That's what you need

If its a thickness you're having issue with, and not getting it by dipping it in modge podge 3 times... I don't think you're going to get it with out diamond glaze. But diamond glaze goes by many names and brands so maybe ask at your local craft store if you can. They might be able to recommend something If you decided you don't care about thickness, you can try a clear glossy sealant spray paint, it makes it easier to do lots at one time, and it last longer!
I endlessly search through etsy and pinterest for new ideas, lol. etsy is good for searching because you can get really specific with the search words. If the item has pics with different angles I can usually figure out how to recreate just by looking.
I think I would use headpins or wire and go through the bell of the pig and straight up, coming out the back/spine area. That way you know it won't end up ripping through like I might if you poked a hole in the ears. The only other thing I could think of would to take wire and wrap it around the neck and the finish it off with a loop. Kind of like a collar. That way there is no hole in the toy at all hopefully those ideas help with your project!
I was looking on etsy for some ideas for you and I really like these two

Either one you could cut out the shape from a hard plastic like a #6 container and the paint red and cover with a glaze glue or decopodge if you have some handy. You could poke a hole or two in the plastic with a hot needle or a nail so you can add jump rings to attach to the necklace
Hope that helps <3
You can order it online, etsy.com is a great place to find supplies, and if you look around a bit you can find good deals. It looks like they were using 20gauge non-tarnishing silver wire. And then a 24gauge wire for the thinnest more decorative parts. Dont get the "soft" silver wire though, it will be flimsy like the stuff from walmart. Maybe try a "half hard". But it is really different to work with then the stuff from walmart. It scratches more easily and will get all dent up if you pinch it too hard with your pliers. Get some steel wool to help buff out the dents and scratches before and after you work with it
Oh and I like this idea too But in your case you could hang it from the rod in the closet instead of on your wall!

Its a oven rack that was spray painted! Now it holds jewelry!!
here is a great idea I just found recently! I have always hung my longer necklaces up on hangers in the closet. I just hang them from the neck and little places for spaghetti strap clothes. But I think this idea would keep them better organized and look cool too!

Just hang the necklaces from were the earrings are
