It's very different, lol root beer is like sasparilla. It's molasses based not ginger based like ginger ale. I don't think it would work very well to swap root beer for ginger ale.

Have you tried using Wilton melting chocolates? The ones that are sold in the craft areas, they look like wafers and are sold in bags? They are the same ones you'd use for making molded chocolates.

I always use the Wilton brand chocolates and have never had a problem with them melting later or dripping down the stick, and I live in hot and humid hawaii, lol. If you have used that kind and are still having issues, maybe its because you have got the chocolate too hot, so its taking longer to set. you could try to keep the chocolate at a lower temperature, or just hold them upside down after dipping them until your absolutely sure they are dried. That might take a while, but it would eliminate your drippy sticks, lol.

    Good luck! ^_^

Probably not very likely. :S I wouldn't worry too much about it, you didn't eat a large amount and def got it out of your system fast! lol, I would totally keep your receipt and jot down the managers names. Just in case something does end up happening. You should probably have a few martinis to double check there are no worms in your tummy, lol J/K! That cook does sounds like an ass though, Oh and you should call whatever organization is in charge of restaurant related illness. Like the Department of Health! Let them know what the cook knowingly served you. They may have other complaints against that place.
So sorry you have a terrible experience! I hate when shut like that happens Happy I hope you went home and had an ah-mazing salad! Yum!

dang! I wish I lived back on the mainland of the USA! In hawaii for grocieries to feed me and my hubby for just 2 week we spend about $180.00 - $200.00. And we dont buy alot of snacks and we dont drink soda! Everything is soooo expensive out here. A gallon of milk was like $7.75 the other day!

humm... thats a tough one! I love cakes. For the amazing way they look and taste! If I am buying a cake from a bakery I like to get chocolate with raspverry filling and chocolate frosting. But if my mom is making it for my birthday I like Funfetti with matching frosting. Thats a type that is sold in the baking isle, and has tiny colored bits in to that taste almost like mini white chocolate chips.

Also does anyone else do weird things to thier cake when eating it? My family does! My dads favorite dessert is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and raspberry jello, which he puts into the same bowl and kinda chops it up into cubes and eats it mixed together. I learned from my grandpa to put the choc. cake into a bowl and pour a little milk over the top, then mush up and eat! My brother on the other hand likes yellow cake and vanilla ice cream mixed in the same bowl! lol were a querky family XD
