Have you seen any chibi pics of the character? That would help a lot, or what's the character name? I could make a plushie of it if we could find a pic or plushie that's already chibi style.

Here's how she describes it
One more detail to consider is yardage. If you're not using a pattern that indicates the yardage needed, you'll have to calculate how much additional fabric you'll need. You have to add the widths of the folds and the distance between them to your overall cut measurement to make sure you have enough fabric to pleat.
So heres an example, if your project is let's say a skirt, then you need to know your finished waist size (28 inches) so you'd need maybe 30inches if you have a zipper. Then you decide how many pleats you want, is it around the entire waist? Or maybe just four in the front. Let's say you pick 4 pleats in the front. Now pick the width of each pleat, 2 inches each. So 2inch X 4Pleats = 8inches extra you will need to add to your width. So 30 inches + 8 inches for pleats= 38 total.
Does that make sense? Try just pinning pleats on a fabric scrap the size you'd like for your project, then mark the folds, unpin and measure from pin to pin, that will give you the width of each pleat.

Oh and also allfreesewing.com is a good one! I think though where ever you find tutorials, they will expect you to know the basics already. Like button holes, zippers, turning, and sometimes mitering. You might want to try making something really simple like a tote, until you get the hang of your sewing machine.

You should search on here and pinterest.com for things your looking to make. That's where I always find great tutorials! Pinterest has links to a lot of great blogs if you check it out
I would try out Le Sac first. It looks easier and if your not super confident in your sewing, I would go with that one. And also if you mess up while sewing, its not a lot of fabric going to waste. I haven't tried either of those but I do sew a lot. So I'm just looking at the tutorials so guess which one to do
When I start running low I use buttons and sew a button hole. Or if I am too lazy to sew a button hole, I use a button that closes with an elastic band lol. Also I start stealing velco and zippers from my husbands old cargo shorts and pants, I keep them in a big garbage bag just in case I could re purpose them

It's 100% cotton and is only about $5.00 for 3 ft (1yard) I have bought from there before and I don't reemerge shipping being too expensive. It's an option if you can't find it anywhere else
Ahhhh I love adventure time!!! What kind of fabric are you looking for? Are you looking fr 100% cotton, a poly-cotton blend or felt? Have you tried Joann.com or etsy.com? I'm sure you could find it somewhere, I'd go look at my local fabric stores for ya, but I my car is in the shop getting fixed oh well hopefully it will be done soon

Like I said there are about 20 different prints like these, some have flowers or leis on them and they are in a bunch of different colors, they are all $5.99 a yard
Hey I live in Hawaii so that kind of fabric is everywhere. I looked at the fabric store for that exact one but couldn't find it. They have like 20 different prints with woodies and surfboards on them, in all different colors and some with Hawaiian flowers, some with waves, some with leis.... I took pictures of the top three and posted them on my Flickr account

www.allfreesewing.com is awesome! They have a search engine that you can use thats linked up to tons of sewing blogs! I dont know if you can post your own projects or anything, but I love going there to look for free patterns for almost anything <3

I wouldnt try it, lol. Because rubber bands are really one piece of rubber, if you poke holes into it by sewing it, eventually the expanding and contracting of just using it will make it tear and rip. I would go find a bit of craft elastic the same size as you need. Then you can either sew it as a straight line and sew then ends together when your done, or sew the elactic together first and then pin it to whatever your sewing it too and then sew both together Did that make sense? lol
Sewing machines are pretty easy to use if all the parts are working Read the instuction book that cane with whatever machine you have avalible. If you cant find it, you can usually find it online at the makers website.
Then you should find a small easy project to try it out with. Something that has good instructions too. That way if you do mess up you wont be wasteing fabric. Like a tea wallet or a pouch w/o a zipper. Zippers can be tricky, lol. So start with something way easy
