Oh I love the idea of the sleeping mask!!!! That sounds awesome, it would be even cooler if you paired it with a small bottle of scented lotion, something relaxing like lavender or peppermint, and put but with a little bag! You could easily charge $10-15 for a set, depending on how long it takes you to see and what size lotion you pair with it.
Even if you did your regular sets of lotion and soap, lotion and scrub, or lotion and lip gloss/perfume, if you made a cut little bag for them to go in, that would be adorable. You could just make a variety of colors of the same patten of bags and then say like "lotion & soap set with bag of your choice $20" or whatever your prices are.

But I think you have a good idea with the sleeping masks, could you fill the mask with something like a bit if rice and them add in a few drops of essential oils to make them feel heavier and smell amazing? If not maybe just spritz them with a bit of oil Happy

Once upon a time I bought this amazing stuff called something like "night time pillow spray" and it smelled like a minty lavender heaven, anyway the idea was to spritz some on your pillow a as your getting ready for bed and the smell would help you relax as fall asleep. It was amazing Happy I tried to find it ever since and can't, I've found a few brands like it but haven't tried them yet. Anyway if you could make something like that in small amounts you could put them in those cheap travel size spray bottles. And them pair then with a matching lotion. Or a sleeping mask.
Have you seen those little Chapstick holders I've been crocheting on FB? My sister and her friends live those, they are fast and easy to make and you already have the Chapstick Happy

Ok Pinkweeds Happy I will totally add in some baby items. I have a few cute hat patterns, one is a little pixie and and I just love it, but I haven't ever made mittens, so I'll have to do a trial pair to see how they turn out, lol.

    Thanks for the info everyone-
Ashley I will totally try and make some little amigurumi items after I feel like I've got enough hats and scarves, I was kinda thinking I should do that, but you convinced me, lol Happy
Caitlin- I had that same idea, but I didn't know what teams to make it for, I'll be selling in Idaho, which doesn't have a sports team (not a legit one) and the closets thing to a team Idaho has is the Boise State Broncos in foot ball, but my home town has a different university in it (Idaho State) So I don't think sports teams colors will sell. So I'm staying away from obvious team colors and also trying to stay away from the red, green&white Christmas combo, except for a few small things, just because I feel like you cant wear those before Thanksgiving or after New Year's or you look goofy, lol.

    Thanks Monica and Andrea Happy
I'm kinda torn up on prices Happy I feel like they are worth a lot more than people would probably pay, like the rainbow scarf, everyone loves, but everyone says they wouldn't pay $20.00 for it, and I feel like it should be $20+ because of the time it took to make it and it is really soft and long. So that's why I'm asking opinions about it. It seems like anyone who crafts can realize how much time/effort/supplies an items must have taken but everyone else is cheap and doesn't want to pay $20.00 for a basic 100% wool scarf (the purple one) It took $10.00 of yarn to make, and so if I sell it for $10, I make $0 on in Happy But it I price them too high I'll be stuck with all the inventory until next year, or the summer if I can get into the farmer market.

So that's the problem, price too high, the wont sell, price too low I get screwed. lol

Anyway I think I will end up adjusting the prices up a bit, then I can do things like
buy a hat and get $5.00 off a scarf.
buy two hair accessories and instead of being $10 total its $8
    Stuff like that. lol

I will be selling my jewelry, I'm just not going to make any thing other than what I already have, which is a lot, I have like 200 ish items of jewelry already, lol. So I'm focusing on crochet items.

    Hey friends ^_^

My mom signed me up to sell my jewelry and crochet items at a craft fair back home at the end of November. It's like a Holiday Bazaar, where you can buy little handmade gifts for people for Christmas. I wont actually get to be there because I'll be busy moving, but my mom and friend will run my both for me. I have all my jewelry already done, since I have a huge inventory already made from selling online, but they asked me to make crochet items as well.

They suggested I try and make things that would be fun stocking stuffers, and close to $10.00, but not over $20.00, because they didn't the the more expensive things will sell a lot.

I have to have everything finished and mailed to them by November 19th!! So I want to get as much done as possible, that means small or quick projects that can be finished in a less than a few hours, that way I wont spend too much time on any one item.

I would really like some feedback on things such as,
    Which items are your Favorite
Which do you think will do well or do bad
    Are they priced correctly
    Project ideas for something else

stuff like that Happy I've been uploading the pics of what I have done to a Facebook album that is open to the public, so if you have time, go look through them and "like" your favorites and/or leave helpful comments.

    Thanks! <3

Well I like it so far, a step up for actual handmade items for sure. I've have a few sales since I opened which is good because I was only getting like 1 every 6 months on etsy. I've told you before what I think of etsy lol. I think they have some improving and adding on to, to do on CC but I like the direction it's going in. And I don't think paying the yearly fee is too bad, better than paying month to month. If you do decided to sign up, say I refered you and I'll get a few free advertsing coupons of something. My federal # is p514166p
Unless youve had someone ask you already. Happy

@ Celestine - Did you look at my shop or the general site? I need people to review my listings in my shop.

    And now
    @ Brook-

The gift wrapping info changes, because some listings were imported from my etsy store and others I had to start re-writing. But I'll look into them and see if I can't stream line the phrase. Along with the changing of the sizes Happy

I'm glad you noticed the "Keepin' it in the Cafe" Happy I thought of it all by myself! I love the idea of keeping people browsing around the site and going to other shops.

Oh and those listing that needed to be linked, are fixed now Happy

I understand what your saying about "upon request" sounding better. I get into the habit of typing like I causally speak, lol.

Oh how I loath that faux neck!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so dark that against the white light box back drop that it washed out all the colors in the jewelry. Editing is a pain in my neck, I tried it out with a ton of necklaces, but only a few actually look alright on it. I thought about buying some stretchy fabric in a light grey or cream and pining it around the black velvet. Because I like the idea of the display, but that black just ruins it for photographing Happy But I agree with you that it does help a lot with seeing how the necklace lays.

I fixed the "closes with a toggle clasp" typo Happy

I love buying/finding real sea glass, but the prices are crazy. So working with faux sea glass really helps with my prices Happy

For the coffee set, I have only made those beads in the set, but they turned out so well that I want to make more in the future. To turn in to separate pieces! I was really please with them.

I don't know what you mean by you can't find my profile?

The only place I mentioned how I mail is in my shop info/ policies. I thought that I might get too crowded having a ton of info at the bottom of each item. Do you think I should add that into the bottom of all of them? I ship First Class (regular) mail with the USPS.

I guess the only place a custom item can be asked about is buy messaging the shop. I'll try and add some info to my shop info/ policies about it.

I don't get what you mean about "competitive, but not". Is that a good thing or a bad thing? lol

I'll message you about what item/coupon you'd like also Happy

    Ok First @ Suzy Lee-

I try and cover all angles of the item Happy and I just use my iphone actually, lol. I had a camera that was way old, but I dropped it while taking pics one day. I find that my iphone actually works pretty well.

Sometimes I try and mention the size of charms/beads. But unless they are really large I don't bother. I like your idea of having something for reference in the pics. Like a coin. I think I'd go get a bright and shinny penny, not an old ugly one, lol.

I like liking my shops to my other pages, but I wasn't sure if it would seem unprofessional to link my shop to my personal page here on CO+K. Do you think that would be an issue?

Let me just say that I am terrible with spelling/grammar :S I try really hard, but it is just something that doesn't stick in my brain. I guess my creative side over powers everything else! Anyway I downloaded Google Chrome browser for the specific reason that it has spell-check on it. I'm also always double checking spelling on my hubby, lol. He does paper work all day for work, so I am always asking how to spell things, because he is awesome at it. Thanks for the correction on the aluminum ring!

I looked over my shop info page, and saw the things you mentioned. The problem was that I just copied and pasted the info from my Etsy store, and when I wrote that I didn't have Google Chrome. So I fixed those.

Oh and refunds - I guess I'd better add something to the info about that, lol.

I'll message you about what item/coupon you'd like as a thank you!!

    Hey Friends!

I've just opened my new shop over on CraftCafe.co. With tons of new items (over 100)!

I need some people to look through my shop though and give me feedback. Such as quality pictures, over all site, is it easy to navigate, do the descriptions describe the items well/correctly. That sort of thing.

I want people who will be willing to go through and actually read everything and check out pictures. You'd also need to review about 15 items.

Here's to good part though - I'm willing to give you FREE jewelry in exchange for your help Happy I will give you a $$$ Off coupon to use on craftcafe.co. So you can use it to get free jewelry or put it towards something more expensive. If I think you did an amazing job, I'll give you a larger coupon, than if you just looked over a handful of things. But my jewelry is very affordable so you'll definitively get something!

Please post here and I'll message you ^_^

    Serious inquiries only please.

If you plan on making more than $300 through PayPal in a year, then yes. Because they have to report that in their taxes. Which means youd have to report it in your. But outside of that if your making more than $500 in a year, techincally your supposed to get a license. If you open a shop Olin an online market place, like etsy or craftcafe, I've never heard of them asking for your license # before you can set up shop. It's pretty easy to get a business license, you just go down to your local IRS office and they can help you. Or you can try and figure it out online. I think it cost you like $50 but idk how often you have to renew it.
I make and sell jewelry online, but mostly as a hobby, I've never made now than $300 in a year, so I don't bother with a license, lol.

I looked it over, and I'm not impressed, lol. But I haven't tried selling anything there. I just signed up, and it seems really crazy to try and navigate. After Tophatter I am not really actively trying to sell anything, even though I am still creating new jewelry. I did come across an upcoming site called Craft Cafe, that isn't even fully up and running yet, but I have been watching it closely for a few months. Its going to be a site like if you combined the ease of running a facebook store, and the traffic/style of an Etsy store. Its all about handmade, they say they are going to be super strict on re-sellers and people passing things off as handmade that just aren't. You will only have to pay a monthly or yearly fee for your store, and thats it, no transaction charges, no listing fees. SO that seems awesome! anyway they have a craft cafe FB page, but also a sellers page, where they are putting out the info as it comes for people interested in selling. They do tonz of giveaways for fans and sellers to get people interested in the site opening up, should be pretty soon! they said spring to summer of 2012. And they are taking early registration so you can pre pay for your first month/year and reserve your shop name Happy heres some links

let me know if you try out that copious site though Happy

Can I just say that I am so frustrated with tophatter Happy I did amazingly well the first 3 weeks. Like making $!00+ every week! Just by doing the fairs (I could never actually get jewelry scheduled. and then they changed everything, and I cant get into any of the fails, then they changed to the stand by, and I have had no sales at all Happy I've been able to schedule a few things but not buyers. I've given up for the moment.

But I am so glad Monica is selling so great!!! People love the B&B stuff, but there arent a ba-zillion sellers for it yet i guess, lol!
