I love it too! I bet you could recreate it if you bought a loose weave burlap then bought old cotton sheets from thrift stores and cut into like 2 inch wide strips. Then cut the strips to be about 6-8 inches long and loop them through the burlap and tie it in a knot around the burlap. Thats the best way I can think to make it on the cheap
Heres the link to the sweater boots tutorial

Maybe you should just spray paint your brown heels a new color and hot glue on some lace and chains that have dangly bows? Thats all I can think of, sorry
I would do like a big lime green bed spread and then splat some red fabric paint across it like a blood pattern! And then do a smaller version on the pillow cases
You def need to have a box that looks like a first aid kit somewhere in the room, that could be part of your funiture and then also you def need the zombie survival kit! lol
Word of warning though! I really was into this site a year ago when I lived in upstate New York, and I did lots of trading and giving/reciving with no problem really... but I let a lady I had talked to a lot borrow some wedding accessories, like a veil, shoes, peticoat, jewelry (not terribly expensive) Because she was having an quick wedding. I took them to her house, helped her pick out what would match, and we had a plan to meet the following weekend to return the items....I never heard from her again! She wouldnt repond to my calls, emails, and when I went to that address again the people said she didnt live there anymore.
how terrible is that! To run off with someones wedding items! I know they're just things/material items, but it really ticks m off that someone would have the balls to do that!
After a while I decided I should let one jerk ruin my helpful spirit! I saw that another military wife (like myself) needed a dress for an upcoming Ball. I wear plus size dresses, so I know how hard it is for me to find one that fits and doesnt look matronly (sp?) So once again I put my faith in someone and let her borrow a dress, shoes and matching purse...only to be let down once again....she ran off into the sunset with my beautiful outfit
Both ladies I had numbers and addresses for! And really seemed like normal, quality individuals. Both let me down and really broke my heart.
Moral of the story, use the site and all its good qualities....dont ever, ever let someone "borrow" anything!
Well if your interested you can join the swap! Its going to be really fast and easy because you dont have to make anything unless you want to. Just saying, newbies are totally welcome to sign up also.
Haha! Hey i started a spring cleaning destash swap! To try and pass along some things that never made it into my last years projects! You should totally check it out! Thans for the inspiration <3
Haha! I know what you mean about the junk! I have to clean my work station about every two weeks because I keep so much random stuff, that I just know I can find a use for. Like popcicle sticks and those advertising magnets you get from dentist and restauants. Crazy fabric and endless notions clutter my drawrs and shoe boxes.
But just about a month ago I deep cleaned everything because I had guest comming to stay at my house. And I had to try and fit all my craft items into a storage closet. I found out that I really need more crafting storage and space!
Currently my work space is crammed behind our couch in our very odd shapped living room. Even though we have a guest room, its too small to fit the guest bed and my craft table! lol! I have out grown my tiny area, and every time more than one couple comes to visit at the same time, I have to shove everything into the closet so there is room for the blow up mattress in the living room.
The only remedy for my situation (I told my husband the other day) is that we need to move into a larger house! lol. I know, I know... A girl cam dream cant she? XD
I totally know what you mean! I read the blog and loved it btw. I think that vintage things in good working order should be preserved in that condition. I'm not sure where I stand with the magazines yet, lol. But books and patterns def!
I collect random old looking books... and I mean old. I have a few from the 1910's and I love reading them. The stories inside are great. Even if not totally relivant to my everyday life. And I see people at craft fairs and things tearing them up to make stash boxes and purses. I havent asked whether or not the books were in a useable condition when they tore them up, but I realy hope they weren't. That would be such a shame.
Also that womans dress is completly the opposite of what shes claiming. I'd like to see the dresses she ruined to create her drab "red carpet look". I hope they were all full of moth holes and wine stains! hahaha XD
