My boyfriend has been collecting feathers as he's making a mobile with corks. I think he saw a project on instructables, but basically you have your corks and attach thread through the middle and then stick feathers at an angle all the way round. They then catch the wind and spin in the breeze. I'll get him to take some piccies when he gets round to making it.

We've also grown herbs indoors and if you have space for a hanging basket you could try strawberries or tomatoes. We have a balcony which we share with everyone in our block and we have flowers grown out there. We also grew squashes the other year. They didn't get as big as they would if they were outdoors but they were good. And we have been growing chili peppers for the last few years on the window sills.

could we do slightly later, say 10.30? I'm not a morning person so it would be for the benefit of everyone if it wasn't too early Happy

Onions are really easy, especially if you go to your garden center and look for onion sets. They are onions which have been started of so they are like little onions which you plant out and grow till they are fully grown. Courgettes are really easy too but you need to make sure you space them well as they need a lot of space Don't grow them though if you don't like courgettes tho as they produce loads and you need to pick them regularly or you'll end up with marrows. They still taste nice but they can get really big.
Another one thats easy is sweetcorn. You need to start them off indoors. What you do is get some kitchen roll or toilet roll and get it wet. You then put your sweetcorn seeds on the soggy tissue and cover it over with cling film or a clear plastic bag to keep the moisture in and then in about a week when you have little shoots you plant them out in pots or in your garden.

I have voted green locally for as long as I could vote and will continue to do that this time. I will vote liberals though for the parliamentary seat though as our liberal candidate has very similar policies to our green one and stands a good chance of getting in. The labour and conservatives candidates looks practically the same. Has anyone checked out the website where you can pick by policy who to vote for. Its really interesting. I'll try and have a google and post the link. You just have to pick the 4 main issues that interest you and they will give you the 4 main parties policy on those issues and you pick which policy you like the most and they tell you at the end who you would vote for. I oddly enough picked green for 3 out of 4 of the policies and the other one was liberal. That ironically was the environment policy Happy

I need mine for everything too and they cost an absolute fortune. I think it was about £300 for my last pair. They do have a few whistles and bells to make them lighter but thats because I wear them all the time and they give me sinus problems and headaches if I didn't. I also get eczema on my cheeks and behind my ears which gets worse in the summer and if I have heavy glasses (i.e. normal ones). I have tried contacts and do wear them occasionally but I prefer glasses. I love the fact that if something yicky comes on in a film/tv programme I can just whip my glasses off and carry on watching Happy You can't really do that with lens.

I'm so sorry. Its such a horrible thing when its one of your pets. You feel so helpless. Hopefully though the fact that he is young will be a plus and he'll start to respond to the treatment. x
