Personally it seems like a better idea for everyone that wants to makes plushies to take them to their LOCAL children's hospital. I don't really understand why anyone would make and send them away..unless they were going directly to a child in need.
Good idea to get your local friends involved though! Should be a very rewarding experience. You can also have a stuffed animal drive.

Ditto on what Kira said about the socks. I do not believe there is a person who has worn and NOT liked them. Serious brownie points!
I would just print off a picture then use the paper as a "pattern" to cut the felt. You could add a braided yarn tail or something. Maybe use black buttons for eyes?
If she likes wearing headbands you could make this super simple but so classy headband! I know I would LOVE if my bro made me this! You could even use the flower technique on bags ect..

Or what about a homemade spa basket? There are a ton of awesome bath salt ideas on here. You could pick up a basket, loofas, scrubbers, pumice stone, ect. at the dollar tree for cheap. Throw in a pair of cozy socks and maybe a handmade eye mask and she will love it.

Speaking from the vegetarian point of view it's awesome when someone just gets me a frozen faux meat to warm. Usually the rest of the meal is ok for me to eat. Quorn has a great "turkey" loaf very easy and one less thing to worry about. Hope the veggie isn't picky.
I leave a note on the door for the ups guy so I don't have to wait. I like the post office way more. it's more convenient and gets there faster.
Tasers are legal. Just depends on the state and voltage.
I would say get a taser rather than mace or a bat. First off a bat would be easy to get away and Mace takes awhile to get out and shoot. I have a taser and I feel much safer knowing it's in my pocket when I'm out by myself, it also doubles as a flashlight.
If you don't feel comfortable getting a gun at least take lessons so you know how to shoot one in case you need to.
Also try to vary your route home, dont stick to schedules if you can help if. That helps prevent predators from catching you alone.
Always park under a light or around people, Dont park next to vans or in dark corners. Dont tell people even friends from school when you will be alone at home, you never know who is eavesdropping. If you see someone suspicious walking towards you cross the street...Just be aware and tell someone what you suspect. Better to overreact than get hurt. Good luck!
You may have a hormonal unbalance. My sis used to act like this alot. Very emotional over silly things...turns out she has PCOS. It affects your hormones and makes you feel like your are pms-ing all the time. You should talk to your doctor to rule out anything serious.
A cheap way to make guitar picks that actually work is use old credit cards. Or even the one's you get in the mail. If your grocery store has store cards you could use those as well.
Just cut them into the shape you want and make sure they are strong yet flexible. Maybe get a few different ones since some guitarists like thinner picks.if you punch a hole in the top you can string them on a chain for a double gift!
Pet item swap would be cool
I really like the idea of a Tea swap
Also the vintage swap sounds like alot of fun
Maybe an Altered book swap? That would leave a ton of room for creativity!
Also what about a photograph postcard swap?
We could just turn a picture we take into a postcard or a greeting card. Landmarks of different cities/countries would be a fun and CHEAP way to "visit" diff. places.
Ditto, This was a nice way to start the day.
@ Sofia C. A fat quarter is a quarter-yard of fabric, but rather than being cut off the bolt at the standard 9" long for a quarter-yard, it is actually a half-yard of fabric cut in half so each piece is 18" x 22".
@ Josie, pretty sure I have seen them pre-bundled...I may be wrong though. If you buy the material there I don't see why they would object to cutting it HOWEVER you wish
A good way to warm the house up is to turn your oven on and position a fan in front of it. The fan should blow the heat from the oven into the rest of the house. Just be careful with the kiddies...Electric blankets work well when you want to warm up the bed and turn the stove off while you sleep.
Hope this helps out!
Now go drink some HOT cocoa and cuddle with a blanket!
Just finished High Fidelity...I had such high hopes for that one, considering the author...sadly the movie didn't hold up so well.
