I like Zooey's look as well here's some ideas to get you started.
She tends to stick with vintage silhouettes (tucked waist, A-line skirts. high-waisted shorts, cuffed skinny jeans, structured tops) She also uses fun accessories to brighten up her look, think fun tights, bright shoes, bows, hearts, bold 60's type jewelry...I went photo crazy so ya...
This girl has a ton of great pics to give you an idea of what to look for in thrift stores.

I just googled pictures but you could probably make the dress easy out of a long mens shirt. Just get one where if you remove the sleeves and hem it will fit as in the photo then just pin along your body to make it a little more fitted and then add a wider hem to the bottom or just leave as is. That's what I would do anyway, I'm not a seamstress though., so good luck!
Also Deb Shops always has shirts and dresses in this style.
Here's a ton of ideas. Keep your top simple or pair it with some shiny jewlery to emphasize the studs.
I wear my corsets and halters with long sleeve shirts when it's cold, I have also worn shrugs and boleros to cover my shoulders. Depending on how thick the under layer it, all options work out fine. If you layered it over a lace shirt you would feel more modest without taking away from the corset.
Whenever my cats spray I use a solution of half vinegar half water. Just spray the smelly area with it and the vinegar will neutralize the smell. This also keeps pets from spraying/marking an area that was previously marked and should keep your shoes safe. P.s. the vinegar smell goes away in a few minutes I promise!
Also maybe put some baking soda inside the shoes just in case, some leaked inside, don't add water just shake it out or use a vac hose.
Being a vegetarian DOES NOT make it hard to get enough protein, unless you only eat junk food and don't educate yourself about which foods have the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
Beans, Spinach, Tempah, Lentils, Grains, Kale, Quinoa, Bean sprouts, Nuts and Seeds are all examples of foods rich in protein. Take a multivitamin if you are unsure about getting all the necessary vitamins. One a Day makes a daily multi-vitamin especially for developing teen girls, it also has minerals to help ward of acne! Since you are a vegetarian and dont consume dairy you NEED a calcium vitamin, Especially since you are only 13 and your body needs the calcium to help you develop correctly! Trust me I ate the same as you are now, and ended up getting sick before I started taking vitamins and eating a well rounded diet.
Remember your body is still developing and you need a certain amount of good fat to remain healthy, Omega 3's are an example of good fat, they are found in Olive oil and peanut butter. Omega 3's keeps your eyes healthy and hair shiny, among other things. Dont diet, rather focus on promoting good eating habits such as not drinking soda, or eating fried foods.
As long as your doctor says you are at a healthy weight and you are getting an appropriate amount of exercise (30 mins a day) I would suggest you concentrate on loving your body the way it is, and keep it healthy. Enjoy this time in your life it passes quickly.
I always wear cute socks like this. DEBS in the mall is a really good place to find funky socks. The one I used to work at had a whole wall of just socks
Also try Target or Walmart they usually have some on clearence. Esp. good finds right after Halloween!
Khols and Ross also usually have pairs.
I like to wear my fun socks with flats as well as heels. Just an idea...
I highly suggest this ointment. The texture is similar to Vaseline but the results are way better. A woman whose son had eczema told my mom about this product she used for her son, so my brother and I tried it. It instantly takes the irritation away and is the only stuff I use anymore.
Bonus it's cheap. Hope this helps.
There was in article on BB cream in this Maria Claire I just finished reading it. I was surprised at how cheap it is, at least online.
I usually wear my corsets with a bolero, under or over. Lace or silky ones look especially nice. A funky tee-shirt layered under works as well. Also if you have thinner dresses you may try wearing it over the dress. Emilie Autumn rocks a henley undershirt. So there are plenty of ways just get creative and try outfits you wouldn't usually. Sry it's so photo-loaded I wanted to give you good visuals. Also if you decide to wear just the corset on top wear more clothing on bottom so you balance out and don't look skanky.
I think my hair hat looks more like a weird sun bonnet. I will have to look for a better way of supporting the hair.
Sorry I did not have bobby pins to do the "rim" proper. What do you think?
I like the picture, and consider it extreme only for everyday. I would so wear my hair like this for a tea party. It looks like it would give you a headache though...
I have enough hair so I may attempt this look..
I usually finish with a top coat and an extra swip along the edge of my nail. My polish usually looks good for at least a week.
You can get a rip-off heel stick at Bed bath & beyond, but here is the link to the original (as far as I know)
