Yo-yo's were really popular during the depression because you only need a tiny circle of fabric. they are also super easy to make.

Fabric stores usually carry fake leather (play leather) in a variety of different colors and textures. My fabric store has a TON of neat selections, hope yours is as varied!

Good how to, but I would iron the fold prior to sewing, it helps me to sew a straight line at least
