My good thing is that I got really far with making my top and learnt what interfacing is and that I have to go buy some =P it's a really cute top pattern, I might make a few with the same pattern, and it should be really easy to customise in terms of making it longer and shorter (this one is "tunic" length, so maybe just long enough to wear as a dress, but is really a top.) The only thing that's gonna be a bitch is the lining - I've got lining material but it's that nasty shiny stuff, and if I put it on the inside of this top, it's gonna make it all hot and awkward to wear. But I don't know what else to put, and the material's too thin. Although I'm thinking about leaving it and just wearing a plain black strappy top underneath it. Hopefully be able to wear it to my boxing social on Monday =) gonna make one from Batman fabric next!
Ooh and does anyone have an idea of what to put on it? It's blue and white horizontal stripes, so looks kinda nautical. I'd like it to be punky but it's probably too cute for that, so maybe something rockabilly? Considering a stencil of Bettie Page or Imelda May.

Ooh that's a good idea, although there aren't many alternative clubs in York, and they're all pretty small. I dunno if we'd be able to keep up with something as well; we're at uni so really just want to do this every now and then.
We were thinking for Freshers some cheap stuff, but also some stuff that seems cheap. So like punk-up a jacket and sell it for £15 when maybe it only cost us £5 to do. Stuff like that. We're not in this to make loads of money; if we break even we'll be more than happy.
Well how should we set the stall up? Does anyone know if we'd need special permits to sell food? Do you reckon we'd be able to play music?
I'll probably post stuff I've made up on here first anyway for people to judge. If you go on my Projects you can see the Button Necklace, which I might do some of (pink/purple ones would probably go down well), and I want to stencil some tshirts like I've got on there. Maybe the bottle-cap earrings, seeing as they cost like 30p to make (not including the price of the bottle, but that seems fair.)
Ooh cute colour!
I want to wear red lipstick but I have to wait another three weeks to dye my hair again so it'll match.
Mm I'm thinking that while I'm young (18 now) and jobless I should do it. I am looking for a job in York, but the problem is that it's Easter holidays in three weeks, which is when I'm gonna cut it, then I'm only back for like a month after. So no one's gonna hire me till next September anyway.
Ooh I like the idea of it being cool =) I used to have really long hair and that was a bitch in the summer. I'm going to two festivals this summer as well, and it'll be easier to handle if it's short.
I love the idea of putting ribbons and stuff in! I could just do little plaits and stick badges and ribbons and beads in it. And I can learn how to do a French plait in case I ever need to keep it out of the way =)
Thank you guys, I'm sure I want to do this now! Just need to break it to the boyfriend haha.
Finished my essay =) two days before the deadline! This is the earliest I've ever finished an essay. Unfortunately, it's also the shortest essay I've written since I got back to uni - they've all been 2500 words but with 10% allowance, and I've got 2586. Normally I have like 2748 =P
This is the shortest I've ever had my hair:
I'm just worried it wouldn't suit me if it was short. But hey, I can just wear a hat or something =P I think my biggest annoyance will be not being able to do anything with it (except spike it up, of course). I like having hair that I can put in ponytails and bunches and stuff. But I might just cut it short, then grow it long again after the summer or whatever.
Ouch Tracy, that's not something a poor student like me could do =(
Yeah I only know Inkubus Sukkubus but they're awesome =)
Ooh does it really make your face look thinner? I could do with that!
I normally dress either in punky clothes, or flowery dresses and that, which I think would contrast nicely with punky hair.
By the way I love your hair and your husband's, Violetta! I don't think I want to have a close-cut shave cause if it looks rubbish I can't do anything about it =(
I've started taking multivitamin + iron tablets and feeling a lot more energetic these days =) my anemia was really getting in the way of stuff. But now I'm feeling a lot better and looking forward to boxing tonight!
Last night vaguely made sense; someone stumbled in at about 3:30am, obviously been on a night out, and turned on the music. Annoying but understandable. But sometimes, no one will go in or out of the house for ages, but it'll be turned on loudly at like 2am! I don't know if it's being used to cover up sex, but I can block out sex easier than I can the Black Eyed Peas.
I can hear it really loudly now as well, but luckily I have to be up anyway.
I'm very seriously considering getting a mohawk and I need to know whether it's a rubbish idea.
This is what I want:
But probably slightly longer at the sides and longer bangs. And I'd still have my side-swept fringe at the front. But I don't want to have to spike it up all the time, so do you guys reckon that'd look alright just down and swept back? My hair's just going past shoulder length now, so I'd probably keep it this length for the mohawk and shorter on the sides. Oh and this is me, so you can see my face shape and that:
My main worry is that it will look horrible because I'm not very thin! Although I think it'll go with my nose ring (which you can't see in either picture as it's in the other nostril!)
Oh and I would probably get my hair the colour in that girl's picture as well, as I've been meaning to go redhead again.
ARGH OH MY GOD.
I have no idea who but one of my housemates keeps playing music REALLY loudly at absurd hours of the night. I don't know if it's bothering anyone else cause they're all asleep, but it's always been like 2am and 4am, which is the time I normally go to sleep. And if I can't get to sleep then, I'm screwed. It's so annoying but I hate being a bitch and don't want to go storming round in the middle of the night. Plus I hate ear plugs. Aaaarghhsdgffhdf
Yeah I worked in a charity shop for a day and they threw away anything with a slight hole in it, or any hand-knit stuff (presumably because it hasn't been through safety checks). It's ridiculous! For the very slightly broken stuff, I was trying to explain to them that they could have a section of discounted items that are faulty; more and more people are learning to sew, and it seems such a waste to throw away perfectly good items! I might have to ask around =)
Research is actually useful! I've made it to university doing hardly any research and still doing well, but finding it stressful. Turns out that if I just spend a day or two reading through books and getting good quotes, I can reel off an essay fairly quickly. Up to about 1300 words, in about 2/3 hours (and that's with distractions as well, not just solid writing). So more than half way done. I need to get to at least 1500 today, hopefully 2000. If I can finish the whole thing today it'll be a HUGE weight off.
