What are you reading?
Madam Bovary
currently I'm reading
The other boleyn girl by Philapa (sp) Gregory
and I've got the series as there are three books in it
Finally got through Gulliver's Travels, not sure it was worth the effort, I think I'd have been better off watching the tv version with Ted Danson in it
Starting Robinson Crusoe next, have read Defoe before so I know what I'm up against this time lol
The last book I read was Day of the Triffids - thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for the inspiration for the next one...
I just read Go Ask Alice, which is fairly out of character since I never really read, especially for recreation (being forced to read and analyze so many books for school has ruined it for me), however after reading a blurb about it, it reminded me a lot of the string of events someone close to me has been/still is in. I can honestly say that I sat on my bed and read it front to back in one day (which isn't that impressive, since the font is pretty big, and it is a diary, so the pages aren't that beefy).
Now all I want to do is read.
Finished with Mr Crusoe (v pleased to find he was a Yorkshire man, we Yorkies can always make something out of nowt lol). Now onto the Count of Monte Cristo. I seem to be having a bit of a swashbuckling phase=)
Reading Sherlock Holmes at the moment. Read the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which was excellent and now reading the Casebook of Sherlock Holmes which is just as good.
School is making me read the mayor of casterbridge
~After chapter two I decided I hated it and threw it under my bed and decided wikipedia was going to make me pass my A-levels.
Its just such an awful awful book D=
Lesiurely, im reading prozec nation =]
I finished Sherlock and now reading Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde (don't think I spelt that right) and its not bad. I knew very little about it before hand so I thought I'd give it a go.
I'm currently reading The Wheel of Time: The Gathering Storm. It's the first of the last three, which are being...taken down? I guess...by Brandon Sanderson...because the author(God rest him), past a way a bit back, but made sure to take down everything he wanted to happen, because he loved his fans Robert Jordan was his Nom de plume, but his real name was James Rigney. He.was.incredible. I get so lost in his world, each country has it's own cultures, all the characters are so engrossing. And so many of the romances...you can't help but cross your fingers that they'll get together!!
>Laurel! You might like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! It's the same book, but every time it gets dull, someone will kill a zombie!! So funny! And the Bennet girls are badass!
~QueenFairyPants-did you finish Dead Until Dark? Are you going to read more? I LOVE the Sookie books! They get better as from book to book. I'm so excited about the next one!
There's not much that can't be improved by throwing in a few zombies lol - I don't suppose anyone mistakes Mrs B for a zombie and bumps her off do they=>
Currently reading Treasure Island, arrrr pirates be cool=D
I'm pretty sure Mrs. Bennet makes it to the end of the book, I haven't finished it. We recently moved, and I believe it got packed away somewhere. The fellow who made the modifications did kill off a few characters that were important though. Charlotte ends up a zombie, a little while after she and Collins get married. Darcy is one of the most revered zombie killer(they call zombies 'unmentionables') around, and Pappa Bennet prides himself on how well taught and focused his girls are in the martial arts and zombie killing. And Lady Catherine is THE best fighter. She has a team of ninjas. She and Lizzy engage in a cool fight scene, instead of the frustrating argument they have about whether or not Lizzy has been going around saying she was engaged to Darcy(although that is one of my fave moments, cuz Lizzy totally tells her to F off in her own perfectly proper way!). There is also Sense and Sensibility and Sea monsters...LOL (I haven't read that one)
I'm currently reading White Fang. It took me ages to get into it and it was pretty dark for the first half but now I'm into it I'm really enjoying it.
People of the Earth by Michael Gear and Kathleen O'neal Gear <3
i'm in the midst of "the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy trilogy of five" right now. but i also have "a journey to the center of the earth" going, a postpartum book going, a dream interpretation book going, and a parenting book. i like my books like i like my crafts.....lots of them going on at one time.
