I bought My Friend Leonard for Tom, because he liked Million Little Pieces so much. I don't think he's read it yet though.

I just finished Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything, which is awesome. I'm still reading GEB, as above, and also reading some books useful for my work (at present Extreme Programming Explained).

Reading A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore (for the second time) All his books are amazing!
Zootm, my boyfriend and I read GEB together (he's kinda a Bach nut which is why we originally picked it up) and it started us on the longest reading list ever! He's still reading books connected to that book! Another good one in the non-fiction area:
The Feeling of What Happens
The Salem Which Trials Reader

I'm reading a couple things. I recently traveled home and found a book on my old shelf from 1942. It's called "Synopsis of Great Classics" It has english, french, russian, and american classics told in 4 or 5 pages a piece. It's my bed time reading and I really like it.

I'm also reading Jumper. My guy read it as a teen and with the movie coming out I decided to read it. It's really good. Exciting and character driven.

That first book sounds really cool! Is the copy that you have that old? That would be even better.

Ha, excellent! It is a really compelling thing to read, I'm just often too tired for all the long words Happy

Do I have the same taste in books as *everyone's* boyfriend?!

Tunuviel (That first book sounds really cool! Is the copy that you have that old? That would be even better.)

Yeah it's that old. My dad has a thing for old books. I knew it was old from the cover but I didn't look till I popped it open before bed and took a look. It's older than my mom. Happy

It also gives a little paragraph of the life of the author before each story and it says "H.G. Wells is still living in England."

Eien- that's awesome! What a great find! The used book store near my house is one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon. The best is when someone has left something in it.

Right now i'm between Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty, Paint it Black by Janet Fitch and Pride & Prejudice by (duh) Jane Austen. I love the Stephenie Meyer vampire series!! I haven't read Eclipse yet but it'll be here in a few weeks... the library is so SLOW.

I read Ender's Game and... whatever the sequel to that was (apparently it wasn't as memorable to me as the first.) by OSC! Yay!

I also recommend Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series. They're pretty long (900 pages each or so) and there are about 11 now (the last book was released; I'll be reading it after Christmas, yeeahhh!) but they're fabulous!

I'm reading "My Mother Wears Combat Boots" by Jessica Mills, a punk/activist parenting guide. I'm only about a third way through but it's great ... the best and most honest thing I've read on the reality of parenting a newborn ... wish this had been published before my daughter was born, I would have been better prepared!
