It's great to have a room that inspires me to create

Tell us about your space

My room isn't very large. It's actually the size of a small baby nursery, which is what I think it was intended to be. I like that I set it up keeping in mind exactly what works for me in terms of organization.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I keep colorful items like embellishments and fabrics within view, so I can get inspired. I also used kind of an eclectic French country theme that matches the rest of my house. The room is on the front end of my house, so guests have to pass on their way in.

How do you keep organized?

I love to use small spice racks, shelves, etc for items that are within view. For items that I store away, I use the plastic shoe boxes. I have tried a lot of different container methods and always end up with this one.

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

A like a dowel rod for ribbons. I rotate a set of rubber stamps from my collection and store them within view on a cute shelf. I fold and keep fabrics on a wood shelf.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

I love the vintage prescription boxes that store ink pads. They were originally used by Doctors who has pharmacies deliver meds to their offices. I also love the spice rack that is used to store small items

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

I used to keep 3 ring binders with magazine, catalog ideas. But I get more and more digital with time so I am finding that most of my ideas are kept that way- backed up daily of course. I do like to keep mood boards that have fabric and color swatches, inspiring quotes, etc on display.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Pinterest of course! I like to look for ideas that inspire me and then think of ways to combine different techniques so that the result is original. I also love blogs and follow many very regularly.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

1. More working surface space
2. An armoire just to store fabric
3. More light- always!
