Take a #KitchenTour with Miranda Cooks and see Miranda's kitchen in London.
Everything is so easy to clean, especially the glazed cupboards and splash-backs.
Tell us about your kitchen?
It isn’t a large kitchen but i live alone so it is definitely large enough for me. I have the dining table just outside just underneath my picture wall because I would struggle to get a table in.
What have you done to make your kitchen cosy, functional, beautiful or inspiring?
The majority of my appliances are black because I wanted everything to match (even if they’re not from the same company). The blue splash backs bring some much needed vibrance to the kitchen!
How do you keep organized while cooking?
I have all my ingredients out before I start because otherwise I tend to leave my fridge open for too long and it aggressively beeps at me. I will also read recipes at least twice before starting so I know the general steps.
Any tips & tricks for organising your pantry, fridge and ingredients?
I always find as soon as I’ve organised my fridge/ pantry, by the next time I open them again they are in disarray (maybe I have a ghost). I am planning to invest in little pots so that it will be as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Do you do a lot of cooking and what are your favourite dishes to make?
I cook everyday. Its not always instagram worthy but I do cook something everyday. I’m currently obsessed with pasta (homemade) but I have yet to invest in a pasta machine which means I am having to roll it all out by hand, it’s great arm work out!
Where do you turn for new recipe ideas?
Instagram is a wonderful place for inspiration! I am always looking at others work for new dish ideas/ techniques. I also love the Great British Chefs website!
Do you plan out your recipes for the week or do you like to be spontaneous?
I plan 3/4 dishes and then the rest of my meals consist of what I can throw together with my left overs. I minimise my waste because I have always hated having to throw out good food. If need be i make loads of dishes at once (if things need using up) and then freeze them in Tupperware.
If you had three wishes, what would you do to make this your dream kitchen?
I would make it at least 3 times bigger. When i eventually move into a house I am planning to make the majority of it into an open plan kitchen with an island, double fridge and large windows. I want it to be a family room as thats where I spend most of my time anyway! I can’t wait to start designing it and picking out all my appliances.
