I live in Louisville, KY with my husband and cats Bear & Precious. I’m a surface pattern designer. Almost everything I make starts with hand drawing, ends up in a pattern and is loaded with color. I love drawing letters, illustrating everyday objects & creating hip, fun patterns! I love cats, pie, eggplant gardening and cats.
Have you always been creative and artistic?
Yes! I can't remember a time when I wasn't in the middle of at least 10 craft projects. As a kid I loved embroidery, sewing, sculpting miniatures, baking -you name it, I liked to make it.
How would you describe the style of your work?
I'd describe the style of my work as lively, colorful, hand drawn and fun.
What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?
My favorite tool in my pencil case right now is my Ebony pencil. I love drawing with the dark, soft led.
Who is your favorite superhero?
Crafterella is the coolest superhero ever but as a kid my favorite was Wonder woman.
If you could have one super power what would it be?
If I could have one super power it would be to have the ability to clean up fur balls & litter boxes using only the power of my mind (involving lasers somehow).
Where do you look for inspiration?
I find inspiration Everywhere; in my cats, in nature, in pie, in interesting little objects like nail clippers or cat toys.
Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?
A few of my favorite artists/ illustrators right now are Kate Bingaman-Burt, Lisa Congdon
