I adore Turkish delight....rose flavour is my favourite.....and nobody else in the house likes it, so I get to eat it all myself Happy

as an american i feel rather dumb- i've had turkish delight before and it was so good- i am assuming it was rose flavor because that is what it reminded me of, what other flavors does it come in? also- when i had turkish delight is was covered in chocolate. does it come covered in anything else, i thought I saw it in a movie but it was covered in like a white powder- it looked like confectionary sugar.

Traditionally it comes dusted with icing/confectioners sugar and isn't as translucent. Here it mainly comes in rose or lemon flavours, but you can also get cinnamon, mint or nutty ones. The chocolate covered one is generally the rose flavoured one. In Turkey it's called lokum=)

One of my work colleagues regularly brings this into work when she's been on holidays. i could sit and eat it all day as its so yummy. I like the rose too and the nutty one is nice too.

hey laurel, i went to culinary school and in my confection class we tried to make turkish delight, it tasted good but the consistency wasn't right- a bit too firm i think it was, and all of us being american it wasn't like we were experts on that anyway Happy however i can make a good home made Butterfinger candy bar hahaha

I tried making it - wasn't a total disaster, but i think I didn't boil it long enough - was much too soft when I bit into it.

The one my friend made was really soft and didn't taste of anything. Maybe supermarket rosewater isn't as strong, or she was being tight with it lol.

Butterfinger candy bar sounds yum=)
