How did you get started?
After a lot of 'market research' or 'drinking for business purposes', we combined lots of different ideas we had seen around London and came to the conclusion that my home town of Southampton could do with something different! After 3-4 months of planning, we finally opened up in March 2015 and have practically been fully booked ever since!
We operate slightly differently to other cocktail bars in that we are a Bring Your Own establishment, so it's our guests that bring the alcohol!
Let our talented mixologist stimulate your senses by creating cocktails for you and your friends, right at your table. Combining fresh fruit and vegetable juices, syrups, herbs and spices, bitters, sodas, and fruits; we’ll bring you a mix that’s perfect for you.
Our relaxed atmosphere and table service means no stressful queuing for drinks, ever… we leave that to other bars.
Where are you located?
Bring & Mix is located in Bedford Place, the bustling bar area of Southampton in the United Kingdom. Being a "Pop-Up", we can move location with ease, but we're currently operating out of an awesome cafe called Retro Cafe.
What are your specialities?
We specialise in bespoke cocktails so every cocktail we make is unique and made especially for our guests. One of our most popular cocktails is our "Gin Garden" - a gin based cocktail with a touch of aromatic rosemary, and lavender.
What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?
My favourite cocktail is our "Jerry's Chocolate Orange". If you've ever tasted a Terry's chocolate orange over in the UK, it's basically that in a drink!
What's on the stereo?
We play swinging 1920s and 1930s music to help set a prohibition style scene. You'll hear "Puttin on the Ritz" by Harry Richman, "Doin the Racoon" by Rudy Vallee, and "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue" by Art Landry to name a few.
Where else should we visit in your area?
We'd definitely recommend Retro Cafe for breakfast the following morning after visiting us at Bring & Mix. Order a Full English Breakfast, you'll get the full works and at a great price!
Do you host any special events?
We offer a private hire which allows a single group of friends to have our full cocktail service all to themselves!
We also offer a Mixology Masterclass session which gives our guests an opportunity to learn the tools of the trade, make a few cocktails (and drink them!) and then we finish off with a friendly team based competition to create a cocktail from a set of ingredients for the winning team to be judged by us!
Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
We're currently only open on Friday's and Saturday evenings from 6pm to 11pm where guests can book 2 hour time slots with us. To find out more information on what we do, we have some great promotional videos on our Facebook page and website! Happy cocktailing!
