How much do you have left Something like Pam's Dino Hat (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/fleece-dino-hat) could be perfect if you have enough fabric.

I'm currently in my last year of school (just 6 more exams and I've FINISHED ) and then, next year, I'm going to study Journalism, English Literature, English Language and Linguistics and Legal Theory at a university about an hour out of town, in a little city called Grahamstown. I'm incredibly excited.
Thanks so much for all of your suggestions! I think I'm going to do something with some black lace, and maybe some white gloves!
Thanks everyone!
I don't think they'd be too impressed if they caught you... Is there no way you can just take a photo (say, on your phone) and then sculpt it yourself based on that? It might be a more guilt-free way!
I'm currently in my last year of school, and in about 2 week we're having our final farewell dinner.
The theme for this year is "Midnight in Paris", with the invitation stating "dress up in French Couture from the past or the present".
For last year's dinner, we had to dress up in a Burlesque theme, so I don't want my outfit to be too similar to that style.
Does anyone have ideas on how I could DIY and outfit for this theme in about a week?
Thanks so much!
As Birgit said, Burda does some 50s style stuff. Here's one of their patterns:

I love Jimmy Carr, Rowan Atkinson (stand-up) is AMAZING. One of my favourite South African comedians is David Newton, as well as Trevor Noah, who are both very funny.
You can browse online, for example here: http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns?creator=6&for=1&most_recent=1&pattern_garment_type=14
Otherwise, if you have a pair of shorts that fits you well, try drafting a simple pattern from those, depending on the type of shorts you want - if you just want something simple and not very fitted, this could work for you.
Hope I could help!
With most of the little toys and things I make, I leave them lying in a cupboard, but once my friends see them they tend to claim them. Otherwise I'll occasionally give them away as gifts etc.
I'm another South African.
Thanks for the links, Birgit! They're all awesome!
DizzyDisaster, I'm actually looking for a more 3D pattern, with gussets and such, but thank you anyway.
I'm searching for a T-rex style dinosaur pattern - does anyone know of a free pattern I could use? A sewing pattern though - I can't knit or crochet!
Thanks
I agree with PinkWeeds. Maybe I'm just wary of dying, but I think that dying would be far messier and the lines wouldn't be as neat and defined as if you were to just get the two pairs and do some snipping and sewing. Maybe go into it with a friend - each buy one pair in different colours, then you can each get a pair of the split jeans!
On projects on this site, I can't seem to find the patterns any more! Where are they??
I'm sure I'm just being silly, but I can't see them!
A basic summary of the first post: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling
One of my favourite comics, personally. I'm a huge English lover, and it annoys me when people make so many mistakes in a single post that it becomes unreadable - I want to read, not decipher. If English isn't your first language or you struggle, I understand, but some things are very easy to learn and understand if you make a habit of them.
