I have several clothing re-structures I'm working on but I'm really itching to finish the chandelier that I am turning into a planter. I have found the perfect bottles for the side arms but I have to wait to collect two more and drag out the tile saw.... (Le sigh) Garden first, then play.

This would be cool adapted into a steampunk look:

I also saw some very cute cuff bracelets from "scraps". Makes me realize I need to re-vamp my design and save bigger scraps.

Easter egg tutorial. I wanted to try it but I just could not make myself use a tie for a one time purpose, ya know?

I've been working on a version of the tie wallet for about a week now on and off. It looked pretty klutzy so I've ripped it out and started over at this point. Maybe I'll get it posted in this life.

Nice. But what happens when we run out of crayons? ;)

Kismet: The belief that your life is to serve but one purpose (like fate or destiny). Kismet is referenced in many Hindi and middle eastern cultures but is strongest in the Muslim beliefs, as a spiritual reference that is a sign of humbleness. "It is my Kismet" can be said for anything from a humble death to a great deed. It is all Kismet.

Food for thought, the whole concept is kind fake. Stretched piercings are an African Tribal declaration... Unless you were born to an African tribe, you're just part of a fashion fad.

    (No offense intended!)

Okay... did it one more time. It IS public. I wonder if the "share" only registers the first time? Let me know, K?

    Good luck.

I also raised a bunch of money for ACS by putting all names of cancer victims, survivors or fighters on my shirt with or without donation. I walked with over 500 names on my shirt and $4,000 to ACS.

Sannes idea is a good one. Sell seeds and write names on shirts. Take pictures of yourself on teh hike with shirts, planting seeds and post on FB with continuing opportunity for people to join your 'path'.

Shoot, I am sorry to read this so late! I would bulk order (or ask for donated) wildflower seeds and sell them as a fundraiser. You could offer to spread their seeds as you go or ask them to plant them in support of your effort.

Set your career path on the highest possible option. (for scholarship reasons) Something that compliments your interests... an English or History professor (Masters) would give you lots of time to hone your writing craft and do background. With a teaching degree, you can always change careers into something else later.

Use arts as a minor so you can illustrate your own books. Covers or childrens books, etc.

There is so much pressure that this is your FOREVER path. In fact, you will probably change careers at least 3 times in your life. Put your best foot forward on paper and let your love and interest in life guide you from there.

    Good luck.

Are you going to "like' posts now or later? I'm not sure mine is public. I think so, I did it twice...

One of the dangers of belly dancing is that if you're doing it right, things tend to jingle and fall off! ;)

It's considered a "token" for the one who finds it.

Have some backups and apply as needed.

In addition to PinkWeeds: Most editors and publishers will not bother to look at your letter without a personal invitation. I have met several wonderful people at Writers Conventions and once you get a 10 minute meeting to "pitch" you usually get a "code" to use in an email submission or cover letter. I even attended an amazing seminar on "how" to write a cover letter. I would only worry about the first draft, with a few friends to edit grammatical errors. You could "polish" it to death and never get published if you wait.

Publishers do only accept a few books a year but they are all hunting desperately for the next big thing. They want to know you have a series and not just one good book

I also learned that it is better to be a superstar with a smaller company then a newbie with a known house. You get more money for promoting and more attention.

    Good luck!

(I would absolutely stay away from self publishing, except for a blog, until you know what you've got as far as market appeal. Once you're "published" with a story, no one wants it.)
