What jobs have you applied for?

What do you list as your "skills"?

Thank you so much for posting this! I have a horrible time finding good homes for my overgrown "girls". I've googled and googled and never once found these shops. I can't wait to go SHOPPING!

We can not now or ever control the actions of others. The only thing you can change is yourself.

    1) Edit your pictures so they can not be duplicated without your name and pertinent (web site, etc) information on them. (You may have to learn to use the software but it's a small price to pay.)
    2) Post infringement warnings on all materials.
    3) Master the internet! Where is your YouTube video?
    4) Learn social media software (Like HootSuite) to make sure people get to your idea's first and keep them on top of the popularity list for "hits".
    5) Before you EVER post an idea, take pictures of the script, pictures and entirety of the idea as you present it. Put it in an envelope and MAIL it to yourself. This creates a legal (Federal government) time stamp of when the idea is recorded. Do not ever open the envelope unless you are in the presence of a lawyer or notary.

Finally, remembering that anything offered on the internet is irretrievably public domain... decide if you want to fight it.

Since you have not done this for your tights idea, the only thing you can do is email the poster with specific link and wording you want her to edit into the script. You can also tag her post in comments with the link to the original. (Stay friendly-You want people on your side.) Ask your friends to "like: your comment so it goes to the top.

Again (and sadly) the internet is public domain. Once you post it, you no longer really own it. You can be angry or get involved to make sure your idea's are hard to copy, easy to trace and work on the future of imminent domain with elected representatives, much like the singers and songwriters did to stop radio stations from streaming live without paying extra royalties...

    Good luck.

Can you remember the day you "chose" to be straight? Neither can I.

Kudos to Expired Sanity, just a note, the sooner you be who you are, the less you'll care about that people think. Free yourself, you CAN do it!

Oh, Arty, I can't thank you enough for posting that! I was a radio DJ and after 20 years ended up as sales manager over 5 radio stations. I was so depressed and wound up and driven. I did exactly what Susan Caine is saying... took the job to overcome my "weakness". This video was a wonderful affirmation.

Sweet Beccaurus, I eventually found an excellent question to ask yourself if you're struggling with your public presentation. When are you truly relaxed, when you're completely alone, or with people? I"m always surprised when people say they are freaked out by being alone... it's so natural to me.

Watch the video, it's an awesome tool to understanding your true value!

If you need to develop "extrovert" skills, join a local toastmasters club. They are all people learning to be better speakers.

But as far as personal situations, be yourself. Forcing yourself to be someone you are not is incredible stressful and fake. Be pro-active, ignore the social butterfly's and look for someone who may be as shy as you. Just standing quietly next to someone after a quiet hello is a very positive and supportive role. You may find that helping someone else with their shyness by quiet support is an incredibly rewarding experience. =)

It's often been said that the quietest person is usually the one listening hardest and probably has the one comment worth listening too!

As an aside: (?) Recently I was in the ER twice with stroke related symptoms. All the experts were in a major HUFF about brain tumors, Stroke, Neurological damage... on and on, blah, blah, blah.

My very down to earth regular doctor, noted that I had a sleep study done 7 years ago. I can not wear a CPAP due to some extremely creative night terrors. My doc suggested I get a "sleep appliance" as my symptoms were also indicative of Severe Sleep deprivation. Not just sleep apnea... you won't get the whole symptom list if you "Search" that. But Sleep DEPRIVATION.

I have had my Oral Sleep Device for about a month now. I mention this here because I have eliminated all but one of my medications!!!! (and it's next.) Early menopause, heart palpitations, excess stomach acid, all GONE! And, I've lost 10 pounds without changing my diet!

So, as I depart my soapbox, I only want to say never, ever underestimate the power of serious sleep! Maybe you could get off those medications for good and not have to deal with that callous A$$ ever again.

(taking my exposed profile and exiting now) Just food for thought, K?

Food for thought, the whole concept is kind fake. Stretched piercings are an African Tribal declaration... Unless you were born to an African tribe, you're just part of a fashion fad.

    (No offense intended!)

I also raised a bunch of money for ACS by putting all names of cancer victims, survivors or fighters on my shirt with or without donation. I walked with over 500 names on my shirt and $4,000 to ACS.

Sannes idea is a good one. Sell seeds and write names on shirts. Take pictures of yourself on teh hike with shirts, planting seeds and post on FB with continuing opportunity for people to join your 'path'.

Shoot, I am sorry to read this so late! I would bulk order (or ask for donated) wildflower seeds and sell them as a fundraiser. You could offer to spread their seeds as you go or ask them to plant them in support of your effort.

Set your career path on the highest possible option. (for scholarship reasons) Something that compliments your interests... an English or History professor (Masters) would give you lots of time to hone your writing craft and do background. With a teaching degree, you can always change careers into something else later.

Use arts as a minor so you can illustrate your own books. Covers or childrens books, etc.

There is so much pressure that this is your FOREVER path. In fact, you will probably change careers at least 3 times in your life. Put your best foot forward on paper and let your love and interest in life guide you from there.

    Good luck.
