Hey guys... I'm new here but I wanna jump in with both feet, cuz I LOVE the whole swapping idea.
I know there's already a Christmas swap or two started but they are... well... already started. LOL.

SO... I had a lil' idea.
Quickie Craft... meaning something small that won't take long to make and not cost too much either.
I say Yuletime to be... "PC" about it... since I'm not Christian but I still exchange gifts Happy

I came up with this idea not only because I was too late for other swaps, but cuz I have two little kids, no time, and not much money! (who does, these days, right?)

The sort of thing I was thinking... was like a couple magnets or a crocheted dishcloth, or a piece of unique jewellery or... some sort of recycled stuff project. Y'know?

I'm in Canada, too... I know a lot of you are in the US, so that's another reason to keep projects small and inexpensive cuz it might cost a buck or two more to send stuff across the border.

    In anycase... who's game? Happy

I realized that it was silly to reply to a current thread... I should just start the thread and see what happens... so that's what I'ma gonna do. *grin*

Tara - - - I'm new here, but was looking thru swaps thinking it would be a really sweet idea.
I was hoping this was a new one but alas, I'm too late. I see I'm not the only latecomer though...
What about we start a new thread for a "Quickie Craft Yule Swap".... (I say Yule cuz I'm yet another not-Christian)...
Anyone that joins it does a "small" item that will only take a short amount of time and not much $$$... (I say *that* cuz I have two little kids, no time, and not much money LOL) Like a magnet or a crocheted dishcloth, or a piece of unique jewellery or... some sort of recycled stuff project. Y'know?
what do you (or other latecomers) think?

Do the CO&K peeps still read this thread?
I'd REALLY like to see a timestamp on the main part of the boards.
Hard to explain what I mean um..
As in... when I click on "CO+K Wishlist" board... I see at the top, of course, the most recently posted-to threads...
    I see;
    - the subject line
    - the person who started the thread
    - the person who posted to the thread last, and when they posted.

What I would LOVE to see, is in the second point above, not only who STARTED the thread, but WHEN they started the thread! Sometimes it's very relevant... like in the swaps list... there's one there right now that says "A new swap" and it was at the top because someone had posted to it today... but when I clicked on it, it was actually an old swap, ending the week of Hallowe'en. I can see when it was started once I'm IN the thread. But I wouldn'tve clicked it originally if I knew from the first page, that someone posted that a month ago. Make sense? Happy

    Just a thought.

OMG I know exactly what you mean! BUT get this - - - - at our local Value Village, they always have tons of costumes... and some if the LITTLE kid costumes (I'm talking ages 5-8!!!) were like... little witches and such... and more than one of them... show these little girls in laced up corset looking topped, short skirted dresses, with fishnet tights, and fishnet arms, and wearing little high heels and makeup!
They even had a "pvc" looking costume that was like this!
... and at Wal-Mart I saw a little "pleather" miniskirt that was about a size 6 - - and that wasn't with costumes, that was with every day clothing!!!

With all the perverts out there and all the worry about stuff like that these days... I don't understand how anyone would MAKE these costumes, let alone let their children wear them? I actually said (quite loudly lol) in the store ... "I don't understand why my 5 yearold needs to dress like a WHORE for Hallowe'en!!!" while holding up one of said atrocities!

I can't even figure out how or where to go to MAKE a blog post... Happy Am I blind? Or is it just not accessible at all right now for some reason?

I had never heard of this site til just yesterday when I signed up but I think it's fantastic. I would recommend finding ways to get it higher up on the search engine results when people search for keywords like crochet, crafts, community, blogging, etc... I think I only found this site thru a link from someone's crochet blog elsewhere. Happy
I'm in Ontario, Canada... I'd be more than happy to spread the word, and if you can get stickers or business cards to me, I could drop them off at Micheals, Fabricland, flea market booths, etc. Let me know Happy
