Come and be British, we can have high tea and play croquet like all us stereotypical Brits do Tongue. It really makes me laugh when people think that, because I don't know anyone who does any of those stereotypical things haha.

Yesterday I went to my friend who has baby-rabbits! They're now 7 weeks and soooo cute!!! We will get two of them and I'm sooo happy! I really can understand you wanting a pet...
I couldn't have pets for 4years when I was at uni, I still am, but now I live in a bigger flat and can keep my rabbits. Luckily my girlfriend loves animals too and she has 12 rats now... Happy
But she has a friend who had her first kid some months ago (it was an accident). When she got pregnant her family put pressure on her to marry (she and her now-husband have been together for 6years or so...). They lived far away from the city and had to move with the child now. Naturally her husband wanted her to pause college and cease working (she now works for one day a week) to look after the baby. So as she has to sit at home all day long, she asked him to move to the city where most of her friends live, but he wants his child to grow up in the countryside, so there she sits now with her child alone, far away from her friends and not knowing anybody. My girlfriend told her to get a pet, rabbits or a cat, and she so much wants one. What did her husband say? No of course. "you have enough work with the housekeeping. And if we had a pet, I'd want a snake"
It's so unbelievable, this makes me so angry!! I'd divorce him immediately!!
Why do people in a partnership tend to constrain their partner? They would not do this to anybody else... but with the partner it's okay?
Sometimes I think that especially men try to patronize their wifes... But she wants a pet, she can take the responsibility so it's non of his business. They are both grown up!
If someone can't take the whole responsibility and is depending on other people to help, then I can understand it, that's another situation. And if that person says no, it's probably better for the pet... Or if the partner has an allergy it's okay too.
But in the case of the friend I really can't believe it...
And there are so many studies proving that animals ar very good for the mental and physical health, it's amazing! They should allow pets at uni and in hospitals and everywhere... Happy and the prohibition of pets should be treated as "bodily injury caused by negligence" Happy Happy

my boyfriend would get a kick up the back side if he said my work was housekeeping seriously.

I suddenly feel very cool to be british, only being rock n roll and british is cool though! I want to be japanese! Act british lol there's a country all the way around London you know, 3 infact.

Michelle - if you are lucky enough to be allowed to get a rescue dog make sure you enroll in a training class or get a book, i've seen what can happen when a rescue is not trained and what can happen with a rescue that is trained! (sorry if that was patronising i don't know if you've gone that route or not)

Irma - is that your bunny? can I steal him/her!?

As far as I know...Star was not trained while kenneled...but when we got her...she was pretty smart...someone had trained her, because she didn't go in the house...she peed outside instead....she was rescued. Of course...she has her moments though.

Yes that one of them... (actually Irma is her name... Happy) She's really cute isn't she? Happy Happy She's a little bit shy though... but can be very bold Happy
She's very small, about a quarter the size of a cat, and my friends cat (fat and old) sneaked up to her and she run away in panic but suddenly turned around and run straight ahead to the cat. And now the cat panicked Happy this was soooo funny! The cat hid behind two blades of grass (silly cat...) and my bunny wanted to play with her. She jumped up and down and left and right just in front of the cats face... that cat had a stupid look... Happy I really couldn't stop laughing!
