Hi all, I'm Deb a young (LOL) 47 yr old, grandma to Maddi 3 and Cameron 1 yesterday.
I work with special needs children.
Craftwise, I knit, sew, and have just taught myself basic crochet.
I will celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary in October to the lovely Steve, who puts up with my fabric, felts, wool and needles everywhere, lol
Well I think that was my life in a few sentences lol

Hi. I am Swiss. I make jewelery, try to sew, try to blog. I love stand up and sketch comedy, my dog stampy, my life partner Sean, and all sorts of good stuff. ;) (oh, I have fibromyalgia and lupus, anybody else here??)
xo swiss.
Oh my god somebody actually has Lupus! You see Dr House test for it all the time but it's NEVER Lupus. What actually is Lupus anyway? Sorry if I seem really insensitive, I just didn't realise anybody actually had it.
I have lots of health problems that we shalln't go into here.
I'd love to see your jewelery, sewing and blogs sometime! x
Thanks for explaining the House connection to me. I've heard it referenced by "Lupies" a lot. (Lupies is an affectionate nickname people with Lupus call themselves.) and have only caught the show a few times. I like the show, I just never watch it. I don't mind people asking about it because what is known about Lupus and Fibromyalgia by the general public isn't very relevant anymore. I like to be able to inform people about it.
"Lupus is an autoimmune disease that is chronic and can lead to fatality. Like all autoimmune diseases attacks the body’s cells and tissue, resulting in inflammation and tissue damage. It can affect any part of the body, but most often harms the heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys and nervous system. The course of the disease is unpredictable, with periods of illness (called flares) alternating with remission. Lupus can occur at any age, and is most common in women. There is currently no cure. However, many people with Lupus lead long and substantial lives." (from wikipedia)
How Lupus affects each Lupie is different, though. I am extremely photosensitive. Meaning I get physically ill when exposed to sunlight or fluorescent / halogen lights. If exposed for a certain amount of time, I will become very ill with a Lupus Flare, where a rash will break out on my skin and I will be extremely tired. Chronic fatigue is an everyday constant symptom of Lupus, but when you're going through a flare, it's 100x worse. No amount of sleep will relieve you of your tiredness, and when you can't sleep anymore, your body won't be able to handle getting up and moving around. There are many more facets to the illness that I'm not describing because it would be a lot of symptoms listed. If you have any other questions about Lupus or Fibromyalgia, let me know though. I'd be more than happy to answer them.
Thank you for sharing. It's been most informative
God, sounds like hard work! All that and you can still make jewelery. I can't even do that!
Very rarely I can! I try to keep it up.
Hi!
I'm Tamara, from Split, Croatia. 21 year old, student of sociology. I was pleasantly surprised by this site, and I hope I'll start making some stuff soon and contributing.
Btw, I love changing names and icons (and layouts and other stuff, depending on forum/board/website/account) so I might do that here, too. Hope you'll be able to keep track with me. Can't help myself - Moon in Gemini.
