Fruit sugar! But there's more than just sugar in brownies that are bad for you... chocolate, fat..

I know, only have a little bit then don't make a huge lot of brownies. I don't really care much at the moment about what to eat and what not to eat sometimes I try to be healthy sometimes i really dont care haha. And also I don't know what the heck to think with the amount scientists are saying about food everyone thought was ok. I just try not to snack, have fruit and veg and have all food groups.

I think it was just...castor sugar, vegetable oil, low-fat yoghurt, vanilla essence, baking powder and cocoa powder or something. They're still not GOOD for you, but they could be worse. They came out great though

I made dinner for my boyfriend's family last night. It was this really nice looking vegetable crumble with sweetcorn and cauliflower and cheese. It took me an hour to cook (should have been 15 minutes) and 45 minutes to cook (should have been half an hour). He ate it all, and his mum and dad, but his brother made a big deal out of not eating it, had a ton to drink to wash the taste out and ordered a takeaway. Bastard. And because I was really hormonal I started crying and that made Tim feel really bad...
I didn't think it was too bad but I think because I know that my being veggie is an inconvience to people, I'll eat anything I'm given really, so I'm pretty easy-going. It probably tasted awful.
Does anyone else get upset when their cooking goes wrong?

I get very upset when I brake my egg yolk when I fry eggs, so upset I almost cry!
That was mean of the brother, jeez youd think you making him eat something he'd never eaten before! The boys in my family are like that too *rolls eyes*

I get VERY upset when my cooking goes wrong.

i made these biscuits for my art history class, but they went quite hard, i'm not sure why, and if it was just my class (who i'm all really close with) i'd have found it hilarious and we'd all have had a joke about eating lumps of coal or whatever, and yeah i'd still have been embarrassed, but there was this other girl who doesn't know me who was all "did you put gravel in these?" and i hate her. everytime she said something i just wanted to punch her.

by the way, they were delicious, just not particularly easy to eat.

today and yesterday i made a huuuuuge cake for my tom's birthday tomorrow. if that's hard i'll cry.

Ooh I'm sure it'll be lovely =)

If I try and make a cake for someone and it goes wrong I get really upset. I have low self-esteem and whatnot anyway, so if something like that goes wrong (especially when it's something straightforward and I don't know what I did wrong) I have this massive breakdown where I just feel utterly useless.

I just think Jem was being a dick, really. But the thing is, if someone makes you dinner - ESPECIALLY someone who's not in your family and is doing it as a lovely gesture - you should eat it no matter what it tastes like. Or that's what I think. Luckily, my boyfriend always tells the truth, and he said it was nice so I believe him.

I hate when people don't appreciate my cooking or baking. That drives me nuts....where do they think the cookies on the coffee table come from? Tongue I made donut holes yesterday because it was chilly outside still....so unhealthy, but so delicious...and so much work frying little balls of dough. Happy

Knittin' Kitten....I'm sure your dinner was great. It's impossible to please everyone, especially the people with the notion that veggies can't possibly taste good.

Roma...I love cake, I think it's one of my favorite foods...what kind did you make?

Devil's food cake! American cakes are the best cakes. Always follow an American recipe for cake making, even if you have to make 'cake flour' out of plain flour and cornflour, do it. It's SO worth it.

It was yummy by the way!

My mum made some really good dinner tonight, so I need to share it with you guys.

She normally makes mascarpone with pasta and mushrooms, but we didn't have any mascarpone so she made it with edam and some cream and it was SERIOUSLY awesome.

I made the homemade granola bars last night and they are gorgeous! I will definitely be using this recipe again.
I used this recipe http://www.joyfulabode.com/2008/04/11/homemade-granola-bar-recipe-no-high-fructose-corn-syrup-in-these-bars/
I substituted slivered almonds for the peanuts, I used lime blossom honey and added sesame seeds.
They are very yummy!

Yeah Alexis I always feel like I'm a problem because I'm veggie, which is part of the reason why I thought I'd make them a dinner. I know Tim's mum has been through a lot lately and she takes a lot of abuse from her family and does everything for them, and then on top of that I come over and she has to make me a special veggie meal (she's so lovely, she won't just give me pizza, she'll actually make me stuff), so I thought I'd give her a night off and treat her to some vegetarian stuff. Bless her, she's got in quorn sausages now for when I come round <3
