Violetta, do you have a recipe for that sarma?? I tried looking up some but none of them had paprika in them. Your picture makes my mouth water, haha.
Oh,I ment grounded paprika. So maybe thats why you didnt find the recipe Kira.Ill post the recipe tomorrow,Its really easy!
OK,here it goes.Im no expert on writing recipes on English, but Ill give my best.
You will need:
sour cabbage leafs (but its yummy with fresh leafs too) The number of leafs depends on how many little packages you want to make
half kilos of grounded meat (usually its made from pork or beef, but chicken is good too)
3 dl of rice (1,5 cups)
2 eggs
3 spoons of paprika
salt,pepper
Mix the grounded meat with the eggs, paprika, salt and pepper.Add the rice and mix well.
Now get the cabbage leafs and fill them with the mix that you made.
You just put a spoon full of meat on the middle of the cabbage leaf, fold the sides on the meat and roll it up.And you get the packages as on the picture.
Layer the sarmas in a pot.Dont add any oil.Pour warm water on the sarmas. The water must cover the sarmas by two fingers.Dont worry the rice will soak up some of the water. You can add a bit of chili too if you like it.Now just add some more salt, pepper and paprika by taste and cook it for an hour.I usually open a sarma after an hour and taste the rice.If the rice is cooked its done.
Serve with sour cream and enjoy!
I hope you can understand the recipe,If not, please ask me,it would be a shame not to try it,its sooo yummy!
My Serbian granny use to make it with vine leaf instead of the cabbage.mmmmm....
My Hungarian granny makes it with cabbage,I learned the recipe from her.But she adds tomatoes and fresh paprika too.
I'm making a salad with lettuce, egg, mayonaise and green pesto

Aww your welcome Kira!
Im making paste with sour cabbage. What is with cabbage and this family?!
I used to never cook...cause I throw everything in a recipe (minus the sink, of course). Everything I make tastes funny to me. I recently subscribed to this website though: http://e-mealz.com/index.shtml
and I'm in love. You get a new recipe for every day. They're cheap...and best of all it comes with a grocery guide! My husband is so excited to be getting new things every night. There was this one dish with chicken, cheese, honeymustard and bacon. You serve it with rice and steamed broccoli (which, surprisingly I ate). It was so delicious! I felt like I was at a restaurant!
I made a Happy Cake
Its from semolina and Step drink powder.
Check out the recipe on my blog:

Love the Happy Cake! I'm making Pineapple upside down cake for my poor husband when he comes home. It sounds like he's had a rough day
This morning I made party oatmeal, grill cheese, and coffee since it was so cold this morning. Party oatmeal is a childhood fave of mine. It's oatmeal with chocolate chips, a few slices of bananas, cinnamon, sprinkles and a little brown sugar. Yummy, warm, and sweet.
