Learn how-to distress jeans in #TechniqueTuesday with Mary from The Real Girl's Realm.
-
Step 1
Put the jeans on and use chalk to mark out where you want the distressing to be.
-
Step 2
Decide if you want complete holes (like at the knees) with the edges frayed or holes with the strings still attached. (which is what I did) Once you have decided, then use scissors to make your cuts. I made a small cut at the top and bottom of where I wanted the distressing to be.
-
Step 3
Use tweezers to pull the vertical strings, one at a time, out of your cut area. This will leave the white horizontal strings across the opening.
-
Step 4
Use a cheap razor to shave the areas you want a roughed up, such as the tops of the pockets on the front and back.
