Ideas for childrens crafts
Hey all,
I'm just trying to put together ideas for childrens crafts for the place i work for kid's summer activities and was hoping perhaps some of you might have ideas to help me out.
It's a eco centre, so crafts and activities need to be based around sustainability, recycling, the environment, 'green' etc etc, so any ideads would be really helpful. O and they need to be relatively cheap.
If you've any ideas, please let me know, they'd be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

You could teach them to reuse by having them create somthing useful from another person's trash. Like if your talking about older kids who can be trusted with sissors do the orange/milk carton project were the make a nice wallet or coin purse from somthing that could be at that moment sitting in a landfill. No worries about money just get people in the community to donate their reusable trash for a better future!
Thanks for the thought, we've done that one already but it's appreciated none the less. *high five*
You could get them all making plant pots from pot noodle pots and then they could plant sunflowers or something else cool. Sunflowers are easy to grow and look great, so are sweet peas or regular peas or beans.

also if some of the kids can not sew have them use fabric or hot glue for their projects, I let Lillian go batty with the fabric glue on a purse she made out of a pair of her jeans that she no longer fit.
pasta necklaces
Toilet paper/paper towel rolls can go a long way with crafts...especially for children...they can make various things...even with boxes...
Tissue boxes and string along with a paper towel roll can make a guitar
two paper towel rolls together can make a pirate looking glass or whatever they are called
...I don't know what age group you are working with...
