I so want to make my own bento lunches too. As it stands when I had a bento I only put left over Chinese from the previous night in it.
I got this recipe for a nice bento lunch too, I've just never made it. Cat you inspire me to make my own.

This was my bento set before I somehow lost it in the cleaning of the car or apartment. Happy

also it makes everything neat proportions so you don't over eat.

I remember Go ask Alice in high school. That was a great book.

I am a big fan of Memoirs of a Geisha as well. I must have read it a dozen times just for fun. I was given Geisha by Liza Dalby by a roomie as a result and I read that one for fun now too. I just wish there were more good books on geisha. Geisha a Life by Mineko Iwasaki would have been good if Mineko didn't come of so snobby and self important.

My fave from way back in the day is "Six Months to Live" about a girl who finds out she has leukemia. I loved that book when I was 11.

I've always supported science that can make a clone of me to go to work in my place.

Yeah I am definitely part of the late club. I work better at night, there are less distractions and day time is for everyone else. I've always been a night owl since I was a little girl just like my father.
I need to learn to just go to bed. I'll feel better and it's good for me.

My tip is to get a short story book. One of those books with 3-10 page stories. Take it to bed and when you are done with one story close it and go to bed. It puts a nice definitive end on the day.

    also.... cocoa.

Opposites-girl: Me and my guy end up doing the same thing. I hate myself for it on the weekend when I should be up at 11:00 enjoying the day and then I get up at 2 and don't even get anywhere until 4.

I would also like to make one. I've looked into it but there is so much info on period design, materials, fit, and pattern making vs premade pattern I have all but given up.

I want there to be an all encompassing site that you can plug in measurements & era and it will tell you how to make it without 70 measurements to size up or where to buy a similar pattern.

Dude, this stuff is all so creative. I am floored at what people make by hand. Better than store bought all the way.

Here is an interesting read I saw today about Celeb Combacks.
It does make me angry they get away with illegal stuff and come back and make more money than any decent person who follows the rules will see in their lifetime.

Wake up...in the morning? What is this you speak of? I get out of bed, shower, dress, and drive to work. Then somewhere around 11:00 I become coherant.

Back in college I used to rub ice cubes on my eyes and then my face. That worked.
Now I find going to sleep an hour earlier helps out.

Having something tasty to eat sometimes helps but it's a hit or miss sometimes so that's not reliable.

A jpeg or jpg is a type of compressed image file. Other ones are BMP, gif, and art. BMP images are barely compressed and take up a lot of space, GIFs are indexed compressed with 2 to 256 colors (usually they move) and ART pictures are barely used anymore. I think that was a Netscape thing.

Most pictures on the internet are jpeg.

check and see what type of picture you are trying to load. You can right click on the file and choose properties. the ending letters on the name of the file will tell you what kind it is.

I want to make a CD with a huge slide show in it of all I did this year and give it to my parents. Since I live 7 hours away they don't get to see what crazy things I am up to and I know they would like pictures with music and commentary.

    Not really handicraft....but tech craft.

My new Nephew will need something....oh and my first great-nephew. Can you believe I have a great-nephew so early? Well the oldest nephew is 20 and had his first kid. He was born when I was 8. Too early for that I think, but hey...
I would love to make some clothing for each family member but I don't know if I can pull that off.

Anyone have some apartment friendly decorating crafts?

Thank you Cat and Opposites-Girl ( I was gonna call you O-G but that sounded weird)

This one doesn't really count for knowing what it would be right off. I had that fabric in my stash for about a year I think. But I saw this cute vest on a girl and just had to make one. When I went digging through my pile I saw it and went...Yes, this is it.
My fabric pile of doom is mostly from this crazy shop in GA where the stuff is $1.50 a pound twice a year. I just go and get whatever is awesome and figure out to do with it later.

Now when I am in a regular store, yes I look I fabric and know what it must be. It's like it tells me without even thinking on it. I always though Home Depot was the same thing for men.

Tunuviel (That first book sounds really cool! Is the copy that you have that old? That would be even better.)

Yeah it's that old. My dad has a thing for old books. I knew it was old from the cover but I didn't look till I popped it open before bed and took a look. It's older than my mom. Happy

It also gives a little paragraph of the life of the author before each story and it says "H.G. Wells is still living in England."

I'm reading a couple things. I recently traveled home and found a book on my old shelf from 1942. It's called "Synopsis of Great Classics" It has english, french, russian, and american classics told in 4 or 5 pages a piece. It's my bed time reading and I really like it.

I'm also reading Jumper. My guy read it as a teen and with the movie coming out I decided to read it. It's really good. Exciting and character driven.

I hope some kids come by. Last year no one came for candy and we had to eat it Happy Happy

I wish we had something to do on halloween but the parties are all the weekend before. It is our 9 yr anniversary as well, so maybe we'll do something for that.

I'm looking at a bedsheet I bought years ago to make into something elven. I think now it will be a good 50's dress.
