Ah good good, well I reported her too... (the girl who is stealing people's projects and passing them off as her own) and I explained why.

Hopefully something will be done about it.

I think it may take alot of people complaining to do it

I wrote Cat and Tom a message about her beaded curtain project and Cat replied that they will do something about it and her.

yeah... i don't have much to add to this besides the fact that people who plagiarize annoy me.

oh, and i always get the thing where i'm making something and then i see someone who has made something similar... but i don't post mine cuz i don't want to put it as a version, but i can't post it because i didn't actually copy it but it won't pass off as original yeah i'll stop rambling now.

and i have a question: what happens to people who are reported?

Lolly.Bot your bit about watermarking got me thinking. On a poetry site I used to use they had a guide to protecting your work (free via them- the date the work hit their server was logged so if someone put that poem on the web AFTER you had watertight proof you wrote it first- OK for UK law - unfortunately not for the US but they did a service for $5 a year or something) when you joined up, and what would happen if you stole a poem (you'd be given the boot).
Perhaps an email or message with some basic instructions on how to watermark pictures/photos and guard against copycats could be messaged to new members - and maybe a record kept of dates to help monitor if someone copies? Of course those who deliberately set out to be deceitful might ignore it BUT if there was a warning their membership would be terminated if they repeat offended then it might scare them off trying it.

Squizita: That's not a bad idea at all. They may ignore it BUT if you can use it in a legal context then they might. I wonder why it only applies to UK Law and not US Law...

Hmm I'll take a look into it and if I find anything I shall post it as a how to!!

I watermark things I don't want copied too anywhere on the net where I upload my work/images. Hm, think I will make a how-to for that. LOL
But yeah Em, I'm the same way. I figured I'm still gonna post mine, but not as a version because I didn't get the idea from the original here, but from another site so I started referring to those like something I seen on youtube. And if it's seen somewhere else, then it's not all that original here anyway.

Well darn Lolly.Bot, we were posting close to the same time. I know how to do an easy watermark in paint.

Creativemind: You do? I'd love to know how to do that!!

Squizita: I found a website that said things like adding watermarks and adding
"© (year) by (your name) with All Rights Reserved" on your work in the watermark and/or the artwork description. It won't stop it but it's like you've made it clear that it's your work and the watermark hopefully turns people off taking it as they have to somehow remove the watermark...

We are just a bunch of strong minded females that have strong view points and opinions. I am sure no one means to be bashing anyone....only bashing should be towards ZOMBIES!!!! Evil undead trying to eat brains!

I gather the only issue was the whole copy write pics, hopefully our Cat and Tom can take care of this so we may craft with positive energy and be victorious against the undead! Happy

Luv ya all!
Sug
