Just watching the second you tube bit and yick. Theres something very wrong with those parents and I bet those kids don't get to see any of that money. I couldn't believe it when the first mum said her daughter would be entering 'cos grandma needs a car'!!

Lol, there is an updated version of that second video, Painted Babies at 17. One of the girls (the one whos grandma needs a car) stopped doing pagents at the age of 7. And in the videos the parents were far more realistic about it all the second time around. The other girl though, was still doing pageants...but it seemed to make her happy.

Did anyone else notice the obsession with blonde hair in all the US pageants??

yeh it's all sexualisation and it's disgusting, they all look like barbies

they should be singing nursery rhymes and kiddy songs if they have to sing and children's clothes!

I was reading about a uk beauty pageant and a 9 year old girl was saying '' my friends say 'why do you bother?' and I don't listen becaus Im beautiful, so why waste it?'' Why? She was 9. yes NINE. It aint fair. And one girl said '' i told my mum i wanted to be a playboy bunny and she said' go for it!' '' I know I aint going to be a beauty queen, but its what the world is like. It not fair on them. And what if thy don't win? The cry cry cry bcause they're parents say your gunna win it and they dont. I feel sorry for them.

I just don't like beauty pageants in general, its okay if its your choice and to have fun and all that, but really.
Actually I did watch like 5 minutes of that Toddlers in Tiaras, and one mom was making her kid shave her legs! WTF I didn't shave till 5th grade!
