What will cut circles out of credit cards?

Ive bought a few punches and these will not cut thru the plastic at all...
Just wondering if anyone would share advise on this with me... I'd also like to cut soda cans as well... hand cutting is beyond getting old and tiring !! Thanks Trashy Gals

I've often wondered this too.
I know you can buy kinda industrial level circle cutters that work on credit cards, cos I've seen this type of idea done in jewellery before. Its a metal(steel?) block with circles cut out and i think you put it on ur plastic and hammer it! I'm afraid I can't think what its called, or where u'd get one, but I'll add to this if I can find the details.

A heavy duty hole punch should handle the holes no problem. Or you could just drill them.

Flattened soda cans go through my die-cutter (Big Shot) if I use the thick dies, I've always been scared to try the same thing with cards incase it damaged my die because I use my circles loads and I'd hate if it got damaged.
U could scan & print the cards then laminate ur circles after punching? or use printable acetate?

I'll try to find details for you of the first cutter thing i mentioned!

Update: Sizzix chunky dies WILL cut thru - I crossed my fingers & toes and held my breath!!
Will upload a photo of the results in the morning.

So, u could see if u can get access to a diecutter?

Unsurprisingly, the thing I couldn't remember the name for is called a DISC CUTTER. DOH!

not sure where you're based, but i imagine a quick ebay or amazon search might throw up a few.

I don't know the answer, but are you wanting to make holes, or keep the circles that you cut out?

This is what i did with the circles I die-cut, take a look and if its similar to how you want ur circles & you don't have any luck finding a way to do it, feel free to send them to me and I'll cut them for you.

The die cuts 4 different sizes, i used the smallest 2.

Look for something called a knock out punch set at a hardware store.http://www.harborfreight.com/knockout-punch-kit-91201.html. This is an industrial solution but it will get the job done.

For smaller holes, try a hollow punch set.

Good luck.

Thanks Evozip for sharing the links! I have been wondering about this too for a different kind of recycled project.
