Solution for a messy bookcase?

I just want to cover it up!

organize it by size and/or category. it makes it look much more organized. get rid of crap you dont need too so it doesnt look so cluttered.

Take everything off and dust it (including the shelf) then put big honkin' books like year books, coloring books (don't you go off judging, I like my color books) Big how-to books ect. in the corner of the shelf. Then Large hard backs, paper backs that are large, small hard back and then small paper back. my bookshelves also look a lot messier when I stack things over the books like the crevice above the books. And smaal mementos spread out along the books is ok. I also like a few bookmarks laying about. Did I just sound British?

There are some good tutorials for different book covers here on CO+K. Making them look uniform and arranging them by size/shape will make it look super neat.
