Tunic tops/long t-shirts~ideas&help?
I've got a few pairs of leggings etc and would like to make some tunic tops and long t-shirts to go with them...
could anyone help me with how to make these kinds of things, both from old large t-shirts and material? (i have both) or just give me any advice in general for these kinds of things?
i'd be very grateful for any help
Um, well anytime I have an oversized shirt that ends below my waist a few inches I make into something I can just wear with leggings. You should probably fit the shirt at the top and sort of leave the bottom area a bit baggy. I don't know if this is making any sense (?). I wish I could explain better! But this is what I've done with some of them:
And then this was a project I posted what feels like agessss ago:

Take a large t-shirt, and cut a mild scoop neck out of the neck. By mild scoop neck I mean a modest one, not one so low a nipple slip is inevitable. Use some bias tape around the neck and sew it to have a clean and refined look. You can also use shirring elastic and sew around the middle of the shirt to make it more form fitting.
thank you guys! i'll take a look at the link chelsea, thanks for the tips katie )
turns out i dont have any large t-shirts as i thought i did.. i'll have to look out for some cheap ones, but i also have a couple of big shirts (dad's old work ones!), do you think these could be converted into anything?

Like a dress shirt? There's this <a href="http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/mens-shirt-into-a-chic-skirt">tutorial</a> on how to make a men's shirt into a really cute skirt. :]
Or, you could wear it regular and belt it under your bust like a dress if its long enough.
ooh thats a good idea, i'll have a go at that!
