Hairy pits
So, I've got hairy pits. I also have hairy legs, which I am in no way insecure about. However, the pits.... I am a bit insecure with them. I'm a sophomore/junior in high school, so I am a bit afraid to let my classmates see them. I love them, I really do... I just... well, I'm insecure about them, at least while at school.
Here's a tumblr dedicated to hairy pits: http://hairypitsclub.tumblr.com/ all those BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!!
Oddly enough, I don't care one bit about showing my pits in public, just at school.
Any other non-shavers out there? I'd love to hear from you!
I do shave- occassionally. Hair-removal is just something thats not that high on my priority list. We don't need to conform to the female stereotype- Hairy pits should be celebrated!
lol I'm afraid I'm opposite. I love being clean shaved and I love how smooth my skin feels after a good shave. I don't shave for other people though. I do it for myself. I don't even like being with my boyfriend when I don't shave because I feel better and enjoy being with him more when I've shaved.
So I respect your choice to not shave because its what feels right for you.
Anyhow, I just suggest wearing long sleeved shirts and maybe keeping it trimmed even if you don't shave it.
I wish I was brave enough to do that. I really admire your courage
I'm with Pink Weeds, I like prefer the feel of smooth skin but I have thick dark hair so I need to epilate/wax and my legs only stay smooth for a couple of hours after shaving
But yeh if your happier with hairy pits go for it!
I think armpit hair is disgusting. It has nothing to do with what I've been conditioned to think, I actually hate the armpit area.
I shave because I feel more attractive. I started shaving because I was bullied for "looking like a man" during puberty when I just started getting hair. At school I used to wear the regulation uniform skirts, then I switched to trousers because of it. I never shaved my crotch until I met my first bf. I shave my pits every other day because it gets itchy, legs and crotch once a week otherwise it's too sensitive to shave more often
I have super DOOM thick hair, so while I tried not to shave (cause I am super lazy!), I ended up having to because my hair was so thick it got itchy :S But for at school, I'd suggests not even long sleeved tops, but find things with long-ish tee shirt sleeves. I can fit boy-tops that are a size small, and they always have longer sleeves than girl tops, so maybe try that?
Try wearing a longer sleeved shirt to school. I persoanally am insanely lucky I haven't gotten much admit hair at all, I have to shave my legs and my arms are fairly hairy but my arm pits never get hairy and get thin blindfish hairs that are unnoticeable and easy to remove. I suggest getting a bikini trimmer and using it just to trim the hair on your pits to a more comfortable manageable length if you don't want to wax or shave them
We don't need body hair like we use to farther back in the evolutionary chain... I see no problem in removing it but it also wont hurt to keep it if that's what to do.
I'm half Hispanic so hair on me tends to be more noticeable. I shave my arm pits and my legs and I occasionally will tweeze my upper lip but the hair on my arms I have learned to except. I'm extremely lucky my bikini area is naturally a neat triangle (just keep it trimmed for length) because I do not like shaving there at all, it's super irritating.... but if your looking to keep your under arm hair but don't want it to look gross keep it trimmed with a bikini trimmer.
I dyed my hairy pits purple when I was 18. It was just for a laugh, but I'd do it again...if only I weren't so lazy about it! Sometimes I shave 'em and sometimes I don't; if it's summer I do. Winter...well, I don't care in the winter. :p
