Prom help!

So I've got a little problem. Prom is coming up, I'm really excited for it, I've got a dress that I love, but I have NO idea what to do for makeup or my hair. My mom's not an expert either, she's as clueless as I am. I might be able to convince her to get a stylist to help me, but I'm not so sure- prom's pretty expensive as is :\
I've got the bare minimums when it comes to make up: black eyeliner and mascara, foundation, blush, and brown eye shadow. Makeup doesn't happen too often for me Tongue I stopped in the makeup aisle the other day and was overwhelmed by how much stuff there was!
Would anybody be able to give me some pointers? I'm not sure how to put pictures on here.. that'd probably be helpful though. Maybe send me a message if you can help me out? I'd appreciate it!

Simple makeup that compliments your dress color is a good idea. You don't want something that's going to take focus away from your personality.

I've never worn any makeup to any dance I've ever been to, so that's about all the advice I can offer, lol.

I was lucky, my older sister is naturally gifted when it comes to hair and makeup. She did my hair as well as a few of my friends... for me she curled and pinned up in a pile of hair that trickled down the back of my neck.. it was very "Pride and Prejudice". My friend wanted Marie Antoinette hair, my sister bouffanted her bangs and the top of her hair and pinned long ringlet curls that flowed down from the crown of her head.

I've found that pinned up-dos (with lots of bobby pins and hair spray) stay/last better then hair that's down because it gets touched less and doesn't move around. My sister was in theater so she had lots of great stage makeup that lasted through eating, dancing and other "activities". I recommend something strong that will show up in all the pictures you'll be taking that night but always be sure it complements your skin, eye color and outfit.

girl I had the same problem... go to dollar general family dollar they have bright colors... do your black eye liner thin on top and get a brush and do it simple on bottom... its easy play with it before the eyeshadow works just as good as any others... and im an eye shadow fanaticcc!
