Favourite Artists (the painty/drawy/sculpurey kind)
I like an odd mix of art and my favourites are Salvador Dali, Arthur Rackham, Louis Wain, Marc Chagall and Jamie Hewlett.
I like Mathew Goddard. I want to buy one of his paintings when I move out of Vegas. I also like Tara McPhearson she is the one who did my Avatar picture. I also like Salvador Dali. But, my fave painting is The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai. For a while before I saw this painting I used to draw waves all of the time.

Tyson Mackadoo, any pin up artist from back in the day, Van Gogh, and if i can have visual art then LADY GAGA!
Tara I love the Great Wave too. I've got a card of that pinned on my noticeboard.
I really love Tara McPhearson (especially her sculptures), and Marc Ryden, his art is amazing and so inspirational, and Tim Burton.
Love Tara McPhearson as well! JMKit is a digital artist I love and he's also a good buddy of mine! Van Gogh rocks too!
love Van Gogh
I'm a bit ecclectic when it comes to art. Some I like for the style, others I look at from a design point of view. I really like the Victorian Classicists, particularly Albert Joseph Moore who creates fantastic folds of fabric in paint. Fredrick Leighton's bronzes and figure paintings are awsome and John Collier's social cartoons in black and white are a bit like the Punch ones. He does a lot of 'pulling teeth' bit morbid but funny. Braque, not for his paintings but his jewellery which he didn't start making till he was well into his 60's. My all time fave artist is Henri Mattisse just because the Fauvist movement was so ahead of it's time. Most of them look like prints in two colours. The artistry is in the simplicity.

I love everything hes ever done. I wish i could see his movie he made or visit his museum...his arts addictive to look at. My high school art teacher had this huge art book of him ...and he used to bitch at me all the time for lookin at it and not working! XD
I also like Van Gogh, but mostly as a person in all his beautiful insanity. lol His art is beautiful too.
I get really inspired my Tim Burton too. I love his sketches more then his movies actually ...i wish he did more.
Some of my artwork now is also inspired by japanese manga comics.
Dragonfly.....I saw a fantastic exhibition of Escher where they had recreated some of his optical illusions in 3D models. I love his salamanders that walk onto and off the page
Sheila: I'm thinking to visit the museum again here in The Hague soon :-D
Ooo....lucky you. I live in the North of England so London is a bit far away for the big galleries. We have some fantastic smaller collections of artist here. One of the best is a sculpture park at Breccon. It has the majority of the sculptures within the park landscape so as you walk round a tree you find another piece of art. Depending on which way you look at things you really do get a different perspective. Not for the lazy though as the park is the gallery. I like it too because they sell white chocolate with strawberries and chilli in the gift shop..lol
I love Picasso and his portraits.
I had a chance to go see his work in Belgrade and I got lost in the city.Stupid I know.
