Come on a #CraftRoomTour at Real Girl's Realm and see Mary's craft corner in North Carolina.
My favorite thing about the space is the geometric accent wall and my vintage look mermaid sign!
Tell us about your space
My craft space is in a small area of our finished basement that used to be a kitchenette. I claimed the space when we renovated the basement a few years ago and turned it into my craft/office area. I have a desk, where I can craft and journal and I also have a worktable with my Cricut machine and laptop. I use my Cricut cutting machine a lot to make things like shirts, cards, signs, wreaths and more! I also make gifts and take requests from friends.
What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?
Last year I spruced up the space by adding more craft organization, painting the tile floor, and creating the geometric accent wall made of removable vinyl. I decorated the space with bright colors, mainly teal (which is my favorite shade!)
How do you keep organized?
I have two rolling carts that I have labeled to keep my craft supplies organized. I also have small shelf unit that holds boxes of supplies. Above my work table, I have open shelving with bins that holds smaller craft supplies.
Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?
I definitely recommend a utility cart because it can hold a variety of materials and you can move it around your space. I also like to use clear bins and containers that you can easily label and see what is inside.
Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?
I love the hairpin leg desk that my husband built for me and the vintage turquoise chair. I made the wooden yarn art that hangs by my work table.
How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?
I mainly use Pinterest Boards to save ideas for future projects. I will also write ideas in my planner so I can remember later.
Where do you look for inspiration?
I usually start with Pinterest when I am looking for a specific idea, but I also find inspiration on Instagram and in print magazines like HGTV Mag, Real Simple, and Do It Yourself Magazine.
If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?
I would love to have an entire room so I could have built in storage, a peg board to hold all my tools, and a large island to work on.
