Come behind the scenes at Honeybear Lane for a #CraftRoomTour and see Heidi's craft room in Utah.
I love that everything is colorful
Tell us about your space
This room is about 12x12. It has two long tables (acting as one) which is so great for a workspace. I love that it has two spaces for chairs so I can have someone else work in there with me. I can set up my sewing machine on one side and do something on the other. I love having all the white, it makes all the colors pop!
What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?
The organizing pegboard is hands down the greatest thing about this space. It makes the supplies look so pretty and organized and is just there, easy to access. It was easy to build and relatively inexpensive!
How do you keep organized?
I have tons of stuff on my pegboard, but I also use labeled photo boxes for things and open wire drawers. Inside the wire drawers I have plastic shoe boxes that are clearly labeled.
Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?
Organization is key. Don't change your organization system too often though because you can end up forgetting where stuff ended up! Put some of the bigger stuff you don't use very much (extra batting and fabric or whatever) in a more permanent storage place and keep the stuff you use more handy.
Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?
See the pegboard answer above!
How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?
I use pinterest to organize my ideas but I guess I just keep it mostly in my head. I also write ideas down in my notes app on my phone.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Pinterest, instagram, Houzz
If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?
I actually am going to completely re-work this space so it has custom built-in cabinets that are a permanent fixture. I want some open shelving but some with closed doors so this space can be shared with my piano and be more of a flexible front room. I love having a dedicated craft room but it's just not that practical right now.
