Come behind the scenes at Altogether Beautiful for a #MakeUpTour and see Megan's home office in Grand Rapids.
It's my own little creative corner where I can focus on makeup or my blog.
Tell us a bit about your make-up space?
The room is used for storage, the home office, and beauty room. It's the place I organize everything for the blog plus the space I use to get ready everyday. I love the energy of the room and the creativity it inspires.
What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?
Modern decorating is about clean lines and I love having a clean looking space! Sticking with a theme has really helped make the space inviting.
What does your daily beauty routine involve?
I wash my face and apply skincare every single morning. Once the skincare has had about 20-30 minutes to do it's work, then I sit down and apply makeup. Some days the beauty routine is more intense, all depends on how I'm feeling. After the makeup is done, it's on to hair! Can't have one done without the other.
How do you keep your makeup and tools organized?
Everything has a place. For the brushes, a decorative mug holds them upright. The makeup I use most often sits on top of the desk in a clear organizer. For things I use less often, the desk drawer keeps them clutter free. The drawer is also used to store hair extensions.
Any tips & tricks for organising makeup?
Keep products categorized! Items are much easier to find when stored by category. All the lipsticks in one place, eyeshadow palettes, foundations, etc.
Which favourite products or tools do you own?
Beauty sponges and setting sprays are a must! They ensure a flawless finish.
Where do you keep / how do you organise your inspiration and ideas?
I don't typically keep/store ideas for makeup. I go for what I'm feeling and if I am in need of inspiration, I take a peek at YouTube for beauty guru's makeup videos.
Where do you look for inspiration when thinking up new looks?
There are a few bloggers I follow that have great style; The Sweetest Thing, Southern Curls & Pearls, and Hello Fashion. YouTube is where to go when looking for beauty trends.
If you had three wishes, what would you do to make your room the dream makeup space?
#1 the Riki Tall vanity mirror! #2 extra storage for products. #3 faux fig tree for atmosphere
