Create an awesome Mario themed party in #DIYTheParty with Hello Sweet Taco.
I’ve been a huge Nintendo fan since I could talk, I grew up with them like family so what a dream a Mario party would be. The characters are all so fun and bright, their designs are iconic. Who wouldn’t want to smash open a Boo piñata? Or pin the tale on the Yoshi? Bobbing for mushrooms anyone? Okay maybe we’ll leave that one out

I am a designer/maker living in the South East UK with my husband, young son, and dog. I work as a creative designer & consultant and get to spend a good portion of my time working as a craft author. After studying an English & Creative Studies Degree, I completed my post graduate studies in Journalism and am former Editor of Craft Business magazine, the leading UK trade publication. I launched Sew magazine, a UK monthly contemporary stitching title, in 2009 and continued as Editor until 2012, leaving to pursue my freelance career. I am passionate about textile design and enjoy all aspects of knitting, crochet, sewing and everything in between.

The huge island in the middle! When we first moved into this house, the "island" was a small, movable cart with a cutting board on top. That worked for a year or two, but when we decided to install granite countertops, we also added a much larger island in the middle. The granite for the island was cut from the same piece of stone as the rest of the countertops, so it matches the kitchen perfectly. Plus, it gives me a ton of room to spread out and work on recipes!

What projects are you currently working on?
More dreamcatchers! The ideas and themes just keep flowing through and it can't stop! I'm always really excited about the next one I create because I never know how it turns out.

I’m a kirigami artist and design director. I started making kirigami about 3 years ago. It makes me feel like a kid again. Kirigami is cutting and folding paper. In it’s simplest form it’s making a snow flake from paper to more complex architectural replicas.
