The Jewelry School
We chat to Carolyn, give you a chance to win the book and learn how-to make an After Eight Cuff.
My name is Carolyn and I am a freelance craft designer and teacher. I love to teach and share my creativity with anyone and particularly beginners. I just love the look of joy and satisfaction in their eyes when the make something they didn't really believe they could! I have been working in the art and craft industry for over 30 years and the last 20 years I've focused on jewelry design. I have written a number of books as well as editing and contribution to magazines. I have worked with television networks to promote and sell kits and materials and over the last year have been producing kits to go with my books, making it easier for beginners to get their hands on the materials needed to make gorgeous jewelry! I was born in California but have lived in England for the last 44 years. I travel to the USA six or more times each year to visit my mother and use these opportunities to keep abreast of the trends in the US to share and compare with those here in Europe.
Come behind the scenes at 30 Pounds of Apples for a #KitchenTour and see Kristi's kitchen in Westminster, Colorado.
There's so many things I love about my kitchen. It's bright, it had great counter space, decent storage, good air flow, the list goes on. But my favorite feature is that it opens up into the rest of the living area. In my many years of moving, I've marked literally dozens of apartments off the list because the kitchens were narrow, dark corridors hidden away from the rest of the place, and I spend way too much time in the kitchen to accept that. When we have guests, I love that I can participate in the pre-dinner banter while also putting the finishing touches on the meal. And when I'm home alone, baking or cooking or canning or what have you, it's great that I can turn on music, pop in a DVD, or simply wander to the couch for a break without leaving bubbling pots on the stove unattended. It's incredibly liberating.
Come behind the scenes at Breathe Easy Photo for a #CraftRoomTour and see Victoria's studio in Clayton, North Carolina.
I love the light that filters into the room through out the day. As a photographer my work revolves around lighting which is why I picked this room for my studio. Whether I am taking photos in the bright early morning sunlight, or golden hues of the afternoon I love my studio.
