Come behind the scenes at Pysselbolaget and tour Karin & Freja's cosy craft closet in Stockholm.

Beside the fact that I can keep all my craft supplies in one place, I also get to display some of our favourite crafts. We make lots of things for the blog and I also make tutorials for companies who like to fill their websites with creative content.

Tell us about your space

It’s a tiny space and it’s only for storing craft supplies and finished projects. I wish it was a room, but it’s a closet. I have managed to squeeze in a wall of shallow kitchen cabinets and the smallest couch ever found and now it’s full. We can’t make anything in here, all our crafts are made at the kitchen table, and when we need to get supplies out we have to go in one at the time. It’s a lovely space. Small but wonderful.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I try to have some of our finished projects on display. I love the old String shelf, it’s great for displaying things. The latest edition is the pegboard. It’s only been up for a month but it’s already filled with treasures and treats.

How do you keep organized?

An old classic – the Dymo – made Freja want to label everything, so now we have no excuse for placing things in the wrong container!

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

You don’t need to buy expensive storage units to create order among beads and colors. Old tins from flea markets make excellent storage for ribbons and yarns. Recycle pretty glass jars will fit beads and sequins. We bought cheap baskets to keep our fabrics in and from our local super market we got empty plastic candy containers – for free!

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

The String shelf is a favourite. It can be bought new, but this one is vintage. At the moment we have lots of things on display in our hideaway, for example our happy flower portraits, the tray with leaf prints, the home made cake stand and the pegboard.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

I use Pinterest and sketch book.

Where do you look for inspiration?

I use Pinterest - and my daughter - for inspiration. Pinterest in great for modern crafts and Freja is great when it comes to make thing with stuff we have home.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

I’d love some space. A big bright studio is my craft space dream. I’d love big blackboards, a big table and friends who come over to do crafts on a regular basis. Sounds fantastic, don’t you think!
