DIY Sports Jersey Inspired T-Shirt
Recreate the look with Carissa's t-shirt tutorial:
How would you describe your style?
My style really depends on my mood. I can go comfy casual with just a comfy sweater and a pair of leggings. (I really love my dad’s old beat up and oversize t-shirts at the back of my closet!) But if I am in the mood for dressing up, I’ll wear something chic with a pretty top with a pair of pants and a blazer. I will add that I love blazers, scarves and statement pieces, whether it’s a bag, coat or jewelry. This is because I feel that the scarves and blazers make the outfit look complete and put together while the statement pieces makes the outfit stand out!
What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?
I love my oversize knit sweater for comfort, my blazers and scarves to make my outfit look complete, my jumpsuits/rompers because its one piece and I don’t have to think what top/bottom to match with, my classic red dress if I feel like dressing up and my statement pieces, and….. Okay, this is sad. I can’t decide my absolute favourite. All I can say is that I love them for different reasons!
Who are your style icons?
I don't think I have a specific style icon. To me anyone can be a style icon. It could be a fashion blogger, a celebrity or a complete stranger you see on the street. If their style matches yours, then you probably like their style. If they don't match, chances are you might not fancy it that much. Sometimes, it might look good on someone else but once you wear it, you realize it might not be what you expect.
I love people watching and seeing the different styles and various ensembles. It lets me discover new fashion trends and may also inspire me to mix and match what I already have in my closet. Sometimes, I like go explore various style to give myself a different look. Basically, I prefer to go by what I like and what suits my body type instead of seeing who is wearing what.
Do you have any favourite designers?
None in particular. It really depends on the clothes or accessories itself. Sometimes, I fall in love with all their designs during that season, while other times, not so much.
Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?
I will go mainstream for this one so that means the typical stores such as H&M, Forever 21, Zara, Topshop. You get the idea. But of course, it depends on the design of clothing itself. Sometimes you can go into a store see tons of things to your fancy, being spoilt for choice. On the other hand, there are other times where not even one catches my eye.
Do you make or customise your outfits?
Occasionally, yes. The only thing is, I am not an expert at sewing so I don’t usually make a whole new outfit from a piece of fabric. At most, I tend to modify my clothes. Sometimes I cut a piece off, use fabric glue to ad something or really, do something amend it. I love personalizing my outfit because it becomes more unique.
Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?
I would say go for it. You might not be used to it at first but don’t be afraid to try something new. Who knows? You might even like the change after a while once you get used to it. It doesn’t have to be so drastic for a start. You can do something small like a different type of outfit of what you normally wear. It’s just an outfit, if you don’t fancy it, you can easily remove or change it. Just because its different doesn’t mean its ugly. You do not need something panesh or electic for a start but at least something new or out of your comfort zone. Try to find what suits you, your personality and body type. Other people might criticise it especially when they are not used to it or find it different. But that’s alright. We all have our own likes and dislikes. You don’t have to be upset when people reject or critisise you, your looks or style. Nice things are rejected by people who can’t afford them ;) But seriously, everything is beautiful when you stop looking for flaws.
Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?
I do not have the habit of reading a specific fashion blog. I enjoy googling random things and if I see something interesting, I will read it. But of course, there is always Pinterest and Instagram! (:
