How-To Style Momjeans
Recreate the look with Shalane's tips for styling momjeans:
How would you describe your style?
A fun and colorful mix of thrifted goods and budget friendly items. I love cute and crazy prints, fun color combinations, bohemian feelings and a bit of vintage.
What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?
My new skinnyjeans from Monki with a cute dogprint, found them in sale two weeks ago. I also have a brightly colored 'ibiza' jacket which was the most expensive buy I did in years (it was 60 euro's).
Who are your style icons?
Other fashion bloggers, Alexa Chung and Lauren Conrad. I love Alexa for her cute outfits with a vintage twist and Lauren Conrad is just very classy and always knows how to dress cute.
Do you have any favourite designers?
If I would have a lot of money I would definitely go for pieces from Isabel Marant.
Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?
I do thrift every week, however since you asked for new clothes I always go to Primark. It's affordable and they have very special and cute items. Something you won't see in other stores here in the Netherlands.
Do you make or customise your outfits?
I don't really customise outfits but I love to make my own jewellry. I do make lot's of bracelets and necklaces. I also look for levi jeans in the thriftstore to cut off and turn them into shorts.
Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?
You can mix prints easily. Stripes go very well with floral prints and a little pop of color is good for everyone. Try to think out of your comfort zone and try to combine your favorite piece in many ways. What I also do when I have a lot of time is to make new outfit combinations and photograph them with my phone. So when I don't know what to wear I just take a look in my outfit album.
Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?
