Hi! My name is Anna Rosenkrans Birkedal, and I was born 1991. I grew up in a little town in Denmark, and my favorite things to do when I was little was to watch animated films, read comics and drawing. As soon as I turned 18, I moved to Sweden to fulfill my dream of being an artist.
Have you always been creative and artistic?
Yeah pretty much! I'm a very creative minded person and I come from a creative and artistic family. While other kids was outside playing, I was inside drawing my next new character from another world.
How would you describe the style of your work?
Girlish charm and embracing feminine power.
What’s in your pencil case and what’s your favorite tool?
A ton of markers, mix of brands, but mostly COPIC Markers. I may have too many different shades of pink. My favorite tools is probably COPIC sketch 0 Colorless blender; it's perfect to blend your colors. And I can't live without my white ink!
Who is your favorite superhero?
Definitely the Amazon warrior princess, Wonder Woman!
If you could have one super power what would it be?
Being able to talk with animals, I wanna have deep conversations with my pug.
Where do you look for inspiration?
I find inspiration in many places but mostly in movies, comic books and fashion. I also collect a lot of art books from different artists, which helps me a lot to find inspiration.
Who are your favorite artists or comic book authors?
I have so many! I love Junko Mizuno, Mark Ryden, Macoto Takahashi, Hayao Miyazaki and Chris Sanders works. All of them have somehow influence my work and inspired me in so many ways. My favorite comic book authors are Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Junji Ito (Tomie and Uzumaki).
