upon thinking about it, maybe just an xmas-themed swap would be best, that way people could get something they would want/use, for example i'm not an ornament-type person, i prefer plushies. there was a lot of talk about different things to swap for the xmas swap, im trying to get a definitive "list" of what people want to swap, like ornaments, decorations, stocking fillers etc.
other people's views?

I love all the ideas about the Christmas swaps! butttt, I feel like this is all so early to be starting them up. I mean we haven't even passed Halloween yet and X-Mas is 2 and a half months away >.<
Don't get me wrong, I think it is GREAT to plan ahead and get ideas going and decided.. but to start these swaps and send out before December is a little too quick for me. :/

I can totally see having the send out date super early since we mostly all live in different countries and to make sure we all receive on time too, though.


So I was just wondering what everyone else thought about sending and doing Christmas swaps early?
Not trying to complain, just want to understand! Happy

I think it's having kids and realising how much needs to be done/bought etc that makes people start thinking about xmas early!! Also if you're gonna be making gifts for anyone then you need to give yourself enough time to make them all!!

I've already made a couple of christmas gifts for my sister and mum!!

I'm with Clare.Christmas has a tendency to creep up on me.I kinda like to plan mid-September.Especially if I have to send early December.
I fancy organizing a holiday inchie swap.Proper festive inchie house.

The problem with sending out and making in december is not only getting it on time,but also getting it at all, what with xmas post and possibly ridiculous amounts of snow, plus it gives a long time to craft, shop for bits in sales etc.

I think i will do an xmas object swap with a few different items, not secret though. I was thinking an ornament (hanging or standing), a paper-type decoration (possibly fabric if people want), maybe a plushie, and a "surprise present" for your partner.
