I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo but I don't know where to find the answers to some of my questions.. Any good sites on tattooing?

This site kind of sums it up nicely. You could always post some questions here and I'm sure people would answer you.

Well my main question is, obviously different people have different levels of pain tolerance and certain areas are more painful to tattoo than others, but does the amount of fat, skin, etc covering that area also affect how much it will hurt? Because I want two wings on my shoulderblades, and because its right against the bone I was just wondering about that..

It may well hurt a bit honey but you'll be fine. Besides, us girlies have a much higher tolerance for pain than the boys. I have three (one is a back piece) and as long as you have a good tattooist you'll be fine xx

You should be fine with getting the wings on your back. I have a large piece on my back and lived through it. While the tattoo is healing, your back will feel like you have a bad sunburn. The pain will go away though. Bryony is right about the tattoo artist, as long as they have a light touch and know what they are doing, it won't hurt as bad. BTW, you will need a really good/great friend to help you care for your back while it's healing. It's really hard to reach some places on your back by yourself. Good Luck!!

Good point Carol, trying to reach the body of mine was a NIGHTMARE! Also research your tattooist thoroughly and don't be afraid to ask to see their certificates and previous work before committing to anything. x
